I tried to drop out of the Full Sail MFMDA program the first day of the second week when the irresponsible instructor did not bother to show up for the first Wimba session nor did she find a substitute or even cancel. I took several days and attempts to get withdraw papers from the student adviser was on vacation according to the head of the department. The program, books and staff is poor quality.
The Syllabus is a joke! I did not learn anything by beating the subject of deadlines in a chat nor by providing a spreadsheet of my schedule for the month to an irresponsible instructor. I have been attempting to return the unread books and unopened headset I received after withdraw ever since.

I have received a bill for items I do not want and 25% of the tuition by going into the first day of the second week for of nothing! I should have an itemized bill from
Direct Loan Origination Center for the computer and software that are open and used only and a way to return the unused books and headset to be fair. I entered this program to improve my unemployed situation not to make my situation worse.

This Full Sail MFMDA program and school should not be associated with Government student loans at all and should be investigated! The complaint phone number provide by support email of the Direct Loan Origination Center for College complaint line at 18775578515 is NOT helping, I can not speak to anyone.

Full Sail Online Education, not as advertised.

AUTHOR: K_Johnson - ()

Greetings, Everyone,

I am a previous Student of Full Sail's online courses. During the course of my College life I have attended a few beginning at a community college then to a trade school and finally to Full Sail University Online. During the course of this post I will illuminate several points which diminish the faith I initially had in this school. I am here posting in the hopes of helping other students with talent and drive avoid my current situation, attract help for my current situation and to gather more knowledge on what I should do.

When I first applied to the school I noticed that the tuition for on campus and online degrees for Computer Animationof the same kind were the same price, $72,000. Living in Texas at the time, I thought it more convenient to attend online. This, it seems, was my first mistake. I learned later that though the degrees were the same cost, they did not cover the same material. I had asked my professor when we might begin to cover particles and fluids in Maya. His response was that that material was only covered in the on campus courses as the online courses "didn't have time to cover that material". I was flabbergasted. I couldn't believe I was being charged the same price for a lesser product. However, that was only the brginning of my  trouble.

After the first year of "smooth sailing" my real troubles began. The servers at Full Sail began to "malfunction. For an on campus student this may not be much of an issue. For me, attending online, it was a nightmare. I could not turn in any assignments. I failed classes because of this one. Classes that I was still made to pay for.

On top of these technical issues, There were th teachers themselves. On more than one occasion, teachers were not available for questioning during the times that were posted. If a student is not physically able to come find a teacher in their offices on campus, I think it's rather important that they be online during these times to answer questions. You might thinik that using email might be an effective workaround. For me, at least, it was not. The response times was generally sluggish. Waiting two or three days for a resonse was not uncommon. AS a result, more classes were failed.

I attempted to get help from the administration, but the general attitude was that it was not the teachers responsibility...

Then who's responsibilty is it? Do they have a mother? A nursemaid? Perhaps a secretary who is supposed to take questions during the posted times?

I was furious towards the end. I told the administration to reenroll me in the classes next term at no charge which I thought was quite reasonable as I had failed these courses through not fault of mine. The did reenroll me. I did not discover 'til later that they had still charged me. I immediately asked to be dropped from the school.

At this point I had hit my debt ceiling with the debtors. So, I was unable to continue my education elsewhere until I was able to pay off some of my loans. Which is quite difficult without the degree. The experience has left my in debt with horrible credit. I hope that at some point to recover from the damage that I feel this institution has caused me. I also, hope that this story serves as a warning to others. Thank you for taking the time to read my post.
