I started Full sail july of 09,  Withdrew from classes In December. finally in toward the end of January they Accepted my withdraw paperwork.   I agreed to take 11 classes, i took 7, Yet they are still billing me for Classes i never took.  Watch out with this school.  they do not bill by the class but by the time until you are eligible for more Fin. aid. If you attend 1 day of classes  you automaticly owe for 10% of the classes.  Attend a Full month and you owe for all 6 months.  So if you take there first to classes  you are going to be billed for the next 9 no matter what.  So beware.

The quality of the education is subpar in the classes i was in.  You are much better off at a local community college.  Better classes and Less money.  Have credits with another college?  Forget about it with full sail,  4 of the 7 classes i took  i already had maxed out the amount i needed for a BS degree at a State School.

The school is Deisgned to do one thing, Sign students up, and take there money. There online program is a joke.  tehy send you a book tell what chapters to read, and let you fill in the answer to questions by clicking a multiple choice answer box. You may have one or two projects per class to turn in that require you to actually do something, but again there lacking in substance.  I was able to get top marks on all assignments without reading the books  and working on the projects 10-15 mins before the due time.  And don't forget about the class chat room where you have to make 2 post  and its worth 10% of your grade

Are you retarded?

Do you not read what you sign before you sign it?  If you did, you'd know how their billing works.  In any case, Full Sail bills for 4-month semesters, in 8-month billing cycles.  4 months, at 2 classes per month, usually entails 8 classes.

When you go to a traditional public university, you usually register for 3-6 classes for a 3-4 month long semester.  If you get past the add/drop refund deadline and drop all your classes, you don't get your money back for any of them, even if you only completed 10% of each class.

This is no different than Full Sail.  The only difference at Full Sail is that the classes are faster and taken one after another instead of all at the same time for the whole semester.  But when you pay for tuition, you don't pay by *amount of time* you're in class, you just pay for the AMOUNT OF CLASSES IN THAT SEMESTER, which is exactly what any other university does.

Your complaint is invalid, as it is a result of your own dumba**ery.

Full Sail offers quality education & CURRENT information.

AUTHOR: Sharon - (United States of America)

POSTED: Thursday, October 21, 2010

I started Full Sail ONLINE in March 2009.

I have learned a lot in every class - even after 10 years experience in the Industry.

Just like anything in life, you get out of it what you put into it.  If your idea of getting a Degree is to work on projects 10-15 minutes before they are due, maybe you will manage to get a Degree, but you won't manage to keep a job.  You can't possibly do your best work and the bottom line for any degree is employment.  Of couse, you can skim through and barely pass at any college without actually doing any work...until you can't. There is always a class that will catch you up -and you will fail.  Maybe it's Physics, or Statistics, it depends on what your degree is about.

In re: the discussion post:  it is designed for people to share ideas and comment on each others ideas - just like in a live classroom.  It's worth 10% because if it wasn't, people like you would most likely NOT even bother.  Just like failure to participate in class, failure to participate in Discussion posts will cost you some of your grade.

In terms of the money, if you had made sure you had an UNDERSTANDING the contract you signed, you would have know about the financial obligation and the % of funds that are retained for % of use.  That is no different than with any other college who accepts Federal Funds.  I know, I've been there and they all have you sign the same document.  You would have also known that 7 classes in an accelerated program are the same as 12 classes in standard college - because there are no foo-foo vacations, it's year round school, fast paced, and you have to be willing to do the hard work. Just read the contract, it's all there.

Full Sail ONLINE and Campus education is of a high quality and they actually teach CURRENT information, not stuff that has been around 20+ years and is totally outdated.  If you take your classes seriously, and you are there to learn, you will learn!  If the work is easy, then deep dive it, find something you can add of substance - that is what I do.  If you take that approach, you will get out and have no problem finding a job...which IS the end goal.  Full Sail has plenty of success stories about their students who persisted, and graduated.

It may be what you put in you get out.   I had a 4.0 when i left.  Taking classes i did not need to take. I Have a AS degree already, i did not need there Gen eds.

They where a complete waste of time and money for me.  I need i think 6 hours to complete my BS is business management.  So i guess if you have No education above 9th grade Full sail might be a Good place to start.  But if you have credits from a Real Regionally Recognized School, Full sail will not even bother to look at them.  Even tho My credits are accepted Anywhere else.  Hell some of my Credits are from World wide Recognized colleges like the 14 credits from Yale (summer program Junior and Senior year of high school)  and 12 Credits from KU

The problem that you failed to Read is there billing, Asking me to pay for classes that where never attended.  And there Online not having any substance to it. The different classes might be different. The Classes i took the information was dated by 2-3 years.  And in the industry i was looking into it might as well be 100 years old.

You get out what you put in

I'm a September '08 graduate of Full Sail's Entertainment Business Master's program. It's absolutely true when people say that you only get out what you put in. I mean, really, how can you blame Full Sail for the fact that you didn't read your text books and only did the bare minimum for your projects?

Personally, I loved my Full Sail education. I learned disciplines, techniques, and crucial knowledge about the industry that I use every day. I applied myself 110% in every class to absorb as much as I possibly could. I definitely read my books, and I spent as much time as I could to make my projects the best.  In addition, Full Sail's career development department helped me land my first job in the industry, which has since blossomed into an amazing career.

I am truly saddened by your unfortunate experience with my Alma Mater, Full Sail.

Tyler
