I was completely in love with the idea of FUNimation. They do have the biggest selection of anime that I know of. I bought an Elite Video Subscription in late September which came with a 14 day trial.

My first issue was when I was trying to use their app on the Roku. It didn't register that I have an Elite Video Subscription. Come to find out, the issue was I was entering in my login information incorrectly because the login wasn't clear on what I was to use to login with (username or email).

Once I began using the app the quality of the videos was pretty good, which was nice. Browsing through the 2,500+ videos wasn't very easy on the other hand. I expected an interface similar to netflix or hulu, but I was wrong. There is not option to search for a particular series. You have to look through genres or by first letter. I could handle these issues though.

What set me over the edge was when I noticed I was being billed twice. In the December of 2013, I noticed from my bank statements that I was billed twice that month. I looked on Funimation's website to see if there was a number I could call and there was not. The only way to contact them was through a support form via email.

I sent my first support form in December stating that I would like a refund of the extra $7.95 that was charged to my account. I never recieved a response by Funimation about this problem, nor did I get a refund. I decided after two weeks of no responses to cancel my subscription, and email them again. Again, there was no response. Instead, after canceling my subscription, they billed me again in the month of January which overdrew my bank account.

I've still never recieved a response or a refund. I wouldn't reccomend ANYONE to use FUNimation.

I cancelled my subscription to funimation through paypal when my kids began using vrv. I was surprised to receive an email notice informing me that my yearly payment had just gone through via paypal. I remember cancelling it. I told my kids it had been cancelled, yet it went through. This isn't the first time paypal allowed a payment to go through that I didn't authorize. It seems to be getting easier and easier to steal from people on the internet, and companies like paypal are allowing it to happen. The email that was attached to the funimation payment was funimationstore@funimation.com . I wondered if that was their correct paypal account or a fraud.

It just seems odd that paypal ignored the cancellation of my subscription and allowed a yearly payment to go through. It's not a complicated process. You log into paypal, navigate to your subscriptions, select "funimation" and hit the cancel button. It then shows up as "inactive". I did all of this three months ago yet they allowed the bill to go through anyway. And it's not like I didn't cancel the subcription on the funimation website, I did. I learned my lesson from when I cancelled my kid's Club Penguin(they grew out of it) website and they kept billing me. I was told I had to cancel it on paypal too. So I did both. There is no reason for that payment to have gone through today.
