One brisk November day in 2005, I was solicited by Futurecom (supposedly in partnership with Dell in a telemarketing campaign) I asked my sister if she was interested and she asked me to purchase a full computer system on her behalf. I placed the order for $299.
This amount was deducted from my checking account, no problem, I figured that shipping certainly took longer than payment to process. I began to wait for delivery of the computer system I ordered. December came, not only did I not receive the computer that I'd paid for but Futurecom deducted the full sales price $299 from my checking account AGAIN!
I called to complain, not only about their failure to deliver but their charging me TWICE. On my January bank statement I noted that I was reimbursed for the second deduction but by this time I was getting concerned that my computer had not arrived. I called to inquire and was told that the order cancelled and that I'd been reimbursed. I corrected the representative informing her that yes, I had been reimbursed for one payment but that this payment had been deducted in BOTH November and December 2005 so they still owed me a computer. I was assured at that time that my order would be completed and also assured that my computer would be sent out at that time.
It has been over a year and still no delivery on this order. I have called them now what seems like a million times with no luck. I have e-mailed and left voice messages time and again, these calls are never returned. I called Dell to inquire if they really were "in partnership" with Futurecom as had been represented on the phone and to inform them that, if so, they were partnered with crooks in my experience. Dell has not shown enough interest to return my calls either. I have filed a complaint with the Federal Trade Commission and am ready to direct my claim to the District Attorney. I don't know what else I can do and welcome all ideas and suggestios.
