In Nov. 2010 I purchased a 1994 Dodge Ram p/u truck from G-Town Motors in Garland Texas. The purchase price was 7000.00 and my payments were 300.00 a month which had to be delivered to the dealership each month. Right after I bought the vehicle, the fuel gauge went out and needless to say that was never repaired. Also, the a/c and heater went out, never repaired.
The real trouble here was I never received a copy of the inspection report to carry in my glovebox or a duplicate title for my records. They told me at the car lot I was not supposed to have those documents. In January I was in Oklahoma for a job but ended up instead in the emergency room for 10 hours for aphxiation due to the truck having no muffler or catalytic converter. My hospital bill is approxiamately 25000.00. I almost died.
Do I have any recourse in this matter? I have not consulted an attorney.
I paid in about 3800.00 on this truck.

Last I HEARD...and I stress the word "HEARD"...
When a muffler is missing or bad you "hear" the symptoms. If the car was without a muffler then you clearly HEARD the symptoms but you continued to drive the car anyway. The lack of a muffler in effect caused gases to seep into the passenger compartment because in all probability, the exhaust system was faulty...but you continued to drive the car anyway. So, if the car had no muffler when you bought it, did you even bother to test drive it BEFORE signing any paperwork????
What can you do? NOTHING! You bought the car apparently without checking it out or having your mechanic check out and you continued to drive it anyway without regard to what was very obvious...a car without a muffler!
