I purchased 4 new vending machines from Gaines Vending. In July of 2006 and I paid cash for them.
1) I referred a friend to Gaines and she bought 4 vending machines, I was told by the company, that I would receive $150.00 for each machine she purchased which is a total of $600.00 for referring her. I called the company on several occasions, only to be put off by them or lied to by them saying that the check had been mailed out.
2) My contract agreement states that, Gaines Vending would pay for the first fill up of my 4 machines. At first I was told the merchandise would be sent to my home, then when that didn't happen, I was told I would receive a check for the amount of the merchandise, neither of which happened, and whenever I called the company, I spoke to the sales rep, and he was very rude, to the point that he cursed at me over the phone. I tried to get in contact with the president of the company Jack G. Schwartz, but just like his company they would lie and say he wasn't in (I called everyday for 4 weeks.) I was lied to several times and told the checks were in the mail. Well this all began in August of 2006, it is now Jan 2007 and I still haven't received the money from Gaines Vending that is owed to me. Gaines Vending is so horrible, the Better Business Bureau couldn't get through to them, so the matter is still unresolved.
I would say to anyone that is thinking about starting a vending machine business, DO NOT, I REPEAT DO NOT PURCHASE YOUR MACHINES FROM GAINES VENDING THEY ARE A RIP OFF.

#1 REBUTTAL Owner of company
False statement by customer

Sherri forgot to mention certain facts. First she gave us 2 checks one in the amount of $8500 and then another in the amount of $8510. Both checks were returned as insuuficient. Finally payment was made with a 3rd check. No where in her contract is there any mention of any additional bonus. We delivered exactly what she purchased. As far as the customer receiving compensation for recommending another customer, this we will always do providing the customer submits all the information as to who was recommended and then gives us their Soc Sec number so we can enter a bonus commission on a 1099 at the end of the year. None of this was ever supplied. It always seems that when someone performs an act like issuing bad checks twice, their memory is void of this yet they remember things that were never agreed to.I guess you can make some of the people happy some of the time but you cannot make all the people happy all the time.
