I work for a company that provides phone bill auditing to our customers. We spend a lot of time having "Cramming" or Unauthorized charges removed from their statements.

We have recently seen a lot of bills getting charged from Integretel in our area. Integretel claims to only be a billing service for these different cramming companies. Galacy Web Hosting is one of them, and it's only a matter of time before they are closed down. They will call on customers, ask them questions to get the correct answers they are looking for, and then edit or chop up the recording to say what they need it to say. They will even play the tape for you if you ask for the proof.

I was shocked when I heard a tape played back for me and realized that this company was 100% bogus. They were very rude on the phone and kept cutting off my sentences when I disagreed with what they were saying.

I don't know how all carriers work, but if you have SBC, this is what I would recommend that you do: As soon as you notice the charge on your statement, call SBC and ask them to send the charges back to the 3rd party biller. They will gladly do this in most cases. Then ask them to add "Cramming Protection" to your account. Cramming protection will block 99% of the 3rd party billers from adding charges to your account.

I would also recommend that you have SBC add "Slamming Protection" to your account. This protects other Long distance carriers from changing your carrier without your permission. I hope this helps someone!! Please go to the FCC website and file a complaint against these cramming companies. Eventually someone will listen!
