Galaxy Credit Fraudulent collection bill for subscription They have hooked up with this NR & Associates to rip off unsuspecting consumers! Peoria Arizona

I received a collection letter addressed to my teenaged son stating he owed Galaxy Credit $47.76 for a subscription for 4 years of Popular Science through NR & Associates. I recalled a company hounding us a number of years ago asking us to renew his subscription, which I had purchased for him as a gift. We already had 3 years left, so there was no reason to renew. I then received an invoice, which I returned "Refused."

Now, 2 years later, we received this bill. I called the company and after telling them my son was a minor at the time, they cancelled the account. However, after reading several complaints on this website, I decided to go further.

I sent a certified letter to Galaxy Credit stating they were fraudulently billing my son and sent copies to the Arizona Better Business Bureau, California and Arizona Attorney General's offices, and the Arizona State Banking Department.

In addition, I received a copy of Galaxy's response to the BBB, and they flat out lied about my conversation with the collection agent stating that I admitted ordering and cancelling the subscription. I absolutely did not such thing.

This company has set up quite the scam and must be stopped! They have hooked up with this NR & Associates to rip off unsuspecting consumers! Many people would rather pay a small bill under $100 than risk a report on their credit file, and this is how they probably make thousands of dollars. Consumers must fight back and report them. The more complaints received by regulatory agencies, the better chance there is of them being prosecuted.
