Back in October or November I ordered Christmas cards from Snapfish.com. They did a great job, and when we ran low I ordered another set of them. Shortly afterwords I received an email about "my membership" with Galleria 123 and Dealpass.com. A shopping club. Something I would never join knowingly. I also reject pop-ups every time and have pop-up blockers on my computer.

I called them and asked them who they were and why I had a membership with them. I told them I did not want a membership and to immediately cancel my relationship. They told me no problem.

Now... my mistake is I believed them and didn't look at my bank statements closely enough. I admit that was dumb. Lesson learned. However they continued to bill me since then $9.95 per month. I called them today, after doing their on-line cancellation last night and calling my bank to block them and claim fraudulent charges. The bank would refund two months worth, but wanted me to try to get the company to refund the charges first. I contacted Dealpass.com and explained the situation. They said they apparently (this is their words) "did not successfully cancel the membership."

The first person I spoke with, Michael (agent # 14853) told me that he would cancel my membership and refund me the most recent charge of $9.95. I asked him about all the other charges and he said he was sorry I was charged, and he would refund me the recent charge of $9.95 (which was what he had just said). Then he told me that as a member I was entitled to a Walmart Card of $25... blah blah blah. I told him I was not interested in any of their services, and to cancel me and refund me all the money that was taken without consent. He told me that when I had ordered the prints from Snapfish, I filled out a pop-up for a $10 rebate that signed me up. I have no recollection of this, and if I did I did not receive any rebate. I do not access pop-ups, and do have a filter that blocks them. Even if I did fill this out and joined. As soon as I received an email telling me about my membership I called them directly to cancel it. I called because I had no idea who they were in the first place or what they did. I was told that this would be taken care of.

Now, 7 months of charges later I find that I'm out $50 because as they put it they are "mandated" to only refund charges within a certain number of days of the cancellation. Great mandate for them. The supervisor told me he had "done all he could for me." He was sorry that I felt they were an underhanded company even though he told me that the reason my membership continued was because they faild to successfully cancel it.

Bottom line, although Snapfish did a great job. I can't trust them or their website. Future orders will have to go elsewhere. Too bad a decent company had to partner with such a shady organization.
