John T Biasco Sr, owner of Garage Flooring Pros has a long history of deceptive business practices. Currently, he uses photographs of other companies' work in his advertisements, and he claims to be number 1 in Texas, California, and Illinois. If you search for his company in California or Illinois, you will not find it anywhere. But you will find court records and news articles showing he has been sued more than a dozen times in those states, and has filed for bankruptcy multiple times, in both states. You will also find that he has been sued by his colleagues and customers for decepitve advertising and business practices. You will find that he absconded with $350,000 in customer deposits, that he has been sued by a variety of vendors, and that he owes Baldwin Piano CO. a sum of around $400,000. Before doing business with Garage Flooring Pros, do a simple Google search for "Biasco Piano", and you will find all the information you need:

John Biasco at Garage Flooring Pros is a professional crook. He rips people off and ruins their homes, he uses deceptive advertising practices including bait-and-switch, and he is disparaging your businesses. He is lying to customers about your methods, your materials, and he disparages your personal characters in order to close jobs. I have reached out to the BBB and the attorney general's office, but neither has teeth. I hope you can use this information to collectively put a stop to him. All of this information can be, and has been, verified through the various courts, newspapers, and other records.

 

Timeline:

  • Owned Biasco Piano, and other related Piano businesses in the Chicago area. See below for detailed information on lawsuits against him, information on his deceptive advertising practices, tax judgments, and more.
  • Owned Garage Solutions in the Chicago area, the company filed for bankruptcy in Kane County, Illinois in April, 2004.
  • Moved to California and opened a garage floor business in the Riverside area.
    • June 9, 2008 – Lawsuit/Judgment, $68,34.07
    • November 9, 2010 – Lawsuit/Judgment, $12,770
    • January 31, 2011 – Filed for Bankruptcy - Riverside, CA
    • Established Garage Flooring Pros in Texas, in 2016.
    • Deceptive Advertising Practices:
      • Offers $200 off coupon, adds $200 line item to invoice.
      • Claims “#1 in California, Illinois, and Texas.” Doesn’t exist anymore in those state (see bankruptcies).
      • Accused of using pictures of other companies work in their advertisements and website, including by one local contractor:

      • Multiple complaints with the BBB. Doesn’t meet the requirements for BBB accreditation based on age of business, but is still accredited.
      • Doesn’t disclose to customers what type of material will be used, or in what quantity. Multiple customers complain in online reviews that there floor began to turn yellow almost immediately after installation.
      • At the beginning of 2017, they had only negative reviews on Google. In the last 6 months (as of August, 2017), they have received over 30 positive reviews. They are giving incentives and paying for reviews.

In 1993, the Illinois attorney general's office investigated Biasco's predecessor company, Biasco Musical Instrument Co., for consumer fraud. That investigation culminated in a 1994 "assurance of voluntary compliance" in which Biasco Musical Instrument agreed not to engage in 16 specified advertising practices. The company also agreed to pay $20,000 to cover the cost of the investigation, but admitted no wrongdoing.

 

Biasco Piano owner John Biasco denies the charges and filed a counterclaim last week alleging, among other things, that the "sole purpose" of his rivals' lawsuit is "to harass and damage Biasco's business," according to court documents.

Baldwin listed assets of $86.2 million and debts of $55.8 million when it sought bankruptcy court protection. "Our belief is that there's significant value in this company.
