I ordered 2 T40030 Empress Paulownia Trees @ $3.99 each and 6 V13868 Early Cascade Tomato plants @ $1.16 each via internet from advertisement in local paper.
The total order was 19.69 including $4.75 shipping & handling.
As others have described, the shipping material indicated that the plants might look wilted but would survive when planted and cared for properly. Four (4) of the tomato plants and 1 of the trees were DOA. All items were planted and only 1 tomato plant remains alive. It looks like it will never produce fruit this season and being an annual it appears to be a total wipe-out!
Given the condition of the plants, the fact that the website is now not operable and it is unlikely we will be able to get a refund or replacement of the merchandise, I would say that the firm is engaged in activities that if not illegal, should be consideres as such.
