Be absolutly sure you get written estimates in advance and everything you do in writting. I did not and had no idea what was being charged for some work on my 67 Pontiac Grand Prix. It was all minor work and the only work of significanse was to install air conditioning, replace top motor and pump, and fix cosmetic damage to rear quarter panel. They did lots of unauthorized repairs. I got a bill for ----   get this ----- Over $37,000.

I questioned 675 hours of labor and requested a breakdown of parts and labor and he became angry, hired a lawyer, and demands payment in $100 bills, will not give a receipt, and insists on having a police officer present when I pick up the car! 

Worst experience I have ever had. 

These are my opinions and how I see the situation. Do your own research and make up your own mind. I was stupid and it will cost me dearly as I have no choice other than to hire a lawyer and we all know who will wind up with the money.

He is a great guy to talk "cars" with, very knowledgable. He might do great work? But you must follow common sense and get estimates in writting and tell him he is not authorized to do anything without your ok. Just get everything in writting. Be very careful.
