I was searching on the internet for a vehicle to replace my current vehicle. I started at the Ford Motor Company website and received an email from Gary Smith Ford stating that they had the vehicle that I was looking for. I negotiated by email price of the vehicle and when they reduced the price of the vehicle by 14k dollars and I was told that I could expect fair market value for the vehicle I was trading. I used the Ford Motor Company's link to Intelliquote to obtain the estimated value of my vehicle. I made the decision to purchase the new vehicle so I made an appointment with a salesperson.

I traveled 430 miles to meet with the sales person and he was not there. He had the day off. I talked to the manager and he passed me to another salesperson which was unaware of the arrangement that I had made with the salesperson over the internet.

I showed the salesman the email with the price and he took it to the manager and came back with a price that was 7k dollars higher than the price negotiated over the internet. In addition, they estimated the value of my vehicle to be 9k less than the estimated price that Ford Motor Company's website quoted.

When I challenged the unethical behavior I was belittled and treated with disrespect. The manager stood next to a guy that was telling me to get real and accept the value of my vehicle. The vehicle was 52k three years ago. They estimated the value at 9k dollars. Ford Motor Companies website values the vehicle at 18,510.

I was basically a victim of bait and switch. The trip for me was expensive due to the travel from south Florida.

Do not do business with Gary Smith Ford.
