Gateway Mortgage Company Mortgage refinance ripoff Internet

 Have had mortgage with Gateway for 1 year and chose to refi through our own local bank. I called today (10/27/2014) to verify they had received payoff from our bank and they informed me that they had but now we owe them almost $800 because payoff was wrong. I was furious and continued to ask them how that could happen. Our bank received a faxed payoff Dated 10/10/2014, which was good through 11/01/2014, and that amount was used to payoff loan. Apparently on 10/09/2014 gateway credited our escrow for $1159 for a tax disbursement and then debited the same amount on 10/14/2014. Let's not forget to mention that our taxes were already paid in full by them by June 2014. There was no reason why our property taxes would have been sent out in October when already paid. I spent an hour on the phone with Gateway to try and see why they would do that and all I got was this long reasoning that didn't make sense. Even I know that a debit balanced out a credit when it's the same amount. They say it doesn't. And after speaking with three different people, all gave different reasons on why my payoff they supplies was incorrect and why we owe them. Our bank contacted them numerous times prior to our 10/20/2014 closing to verify amount and it never changed from their 10/10/2014 payoff statement fax. How do I fight this or report them?
