Gateway Mortgage Modifications They promised to save our home! We paid them for their services! We lost our home and they won't return our calls! St. Louis Missouri

Gateway called us in December, we were behind on our payments and in foreclosure. They swore to us they could save our home from foreclosure, but all they did was loose our home. We signed the contracts and gave them authorization to negotiate with our lenders on our behalf. They said we did not need to contact the lenders they would do that for us. They sent us to file an emergency bankruptcy to stop foreclosure while they negotiated with the lenders. So we drove to Roanoke and filed bankruptcy. They told us not to go to the court date and it would be dismissed this was just giving them time to negotiate. We called every week for an update and every week we had a new case worker to speak with that was handling our case. This went on for 6 months. The whole time they kept telling us everything was looking great. We had nothing to worry about. They said they had put in an offer for the loan modification and was sure the lender was going to accept. We would be getting a lower interest rate and lowered monthly payments. The very next day after they told us about the offer a man came to our home and gave us an eviction notice. The man said that our home was put in an auction online. We have three weeks to find a new home and move all of our possessions out. We have three children which this has devastated. We called the guy who has been representing us he said he would make some phone calls to find out what was going on and then get back to us in an hour. We have not heard from him yet. We tried calling him and we are not getting an answer. We have left numerous messages and nothing. We called our lender and they said it was out of their hands. We have no way to get our home back and we are out the money that we paid Gateway to help us. They helped us right out of our home. We do not understand how they can get away with promising to help people save their home. How can they mess with peoples lives like that? We are hard working people. We love our family and work really hard on being good people. We were just in a hard place. Everyone has been there before at one time or another. We are not rich people. We just hope this helps to keep from someone else getting ripped off and loosing their home. Please don't let these people get away with taking someone else home. I have kept every e-mail, fax, and receipt that we paid and even our contract with Gateway.
