My wife and I financed a computer from Gateway through Hurley State Bank. It took 3 months to find out what bank finaced our computer. After repeatedly calling gateway about who to send our payments to we were finally told Hurley State Bank. We didn't find out til later that it was some sort of credit card with a 25% interest rate. This is unheard of. I didn't even Know it was legal to charge this much. The computer they first sent us crashed all the time. Until I told them I was going to send it back to them.
I quickly got in contact with someone high up on the gateway chain of command. They sent me a new tower. I should have sent it back and told them I didn't want a new computer after this ordeal. I let them send it anyway figuring I would have this 2000 computer paid off in a year. 2 1/2 years later I still $1800.00 dollars.
I send my payments on time they still charge $29 dollars late fee and charge some outrageous finance charge. I send them 100.00 and they take any where from 50 to 60 dollars right off top. Last month I sent them $500.00 dollars and my balance is still 1800.00 dollars. I have decided not send them one more red cent. They can do whatever they have to. I have paid for this computer more than twice. The computer probably sales for $699.00 retail. I have had it with these robbers/scam artist/thieves.

Hi,
I happen to read about your problem. I had this problem a couple of years ago with another bank and I contacted my States (CT) Banking Department. They sent a letter in my behalf and the company was shaking in their boots. They acted very quickly. We made a settlement for about half of what I owed. I also made those payments in 3 parts. Good Luck! don't give up!
