GBV Travel Services Scam, deceptive, misleading and a rip-off Williamsburg Virginia

I was lured into visiting the GBV travel presentation by them offering two round trip air tickets to anywhere in the USA along with 2 nights hotel in a marriott.  Well, it turns out that all you receive is a mail in voucher that costs $100 to register and then you have to give them 3 different dates you can travel.  They will select the dates that you can travel, not you.  And, it is not free as it was advertised.  Oh, and there was not 2 nights at a marriot included even though they promised it.

Now for the presentation.  I have a time-share and use it regularly.  They said I would be able to trade in my timeshare and get points that could then be used anywhere, including in the RCI system.  That interested me becaue I currently am only using the II network and would like to be able to use the RCI network.  Turns out that they do not belong to either the II network or the RCI network and the points you get are for points in thier own system.  BTW,  thier system is what is available to everyone on the internet including you and me. 

Once I joined, I had access to thier website and vacation listings.   The prices were not good and much more expensive (on average) than what I could get off the internet.  My personal timeshare place was not available and a hotel close to where mine was, costs 4 times what I pay through my timeshare.  The deals were no better than what you can find on your own.

Now, the kicker.......You can buy 3 different packages.   1-week, 2-weeks or 4-weeks.  the prices increase dramtically for each.  The fact is that it doesn't matter how many weeks you buy, it doesn't cost GBV anything for add'l weeks.  This is clearly one of the larger parts of the scam.  

After I canceled, they called me and then offered the whole package at employee rate ($2,995) when in fact, paying that buys you nothing that you can't find on the internet.

My suggestion to you....... don't touch it and don't bother going to the presentation for the rewards that don't exist.
