I received a letter from GE Money Bank, Creditor dated 5/11/10 stating that my request for a credit program with PAYPAL has been judgmentally reviewed and denied for the following reason: Unable to verify identity with information provided when you applied.
I DID NOT APPLY FOR A CREDIT PROGRAM WITH PAYPAL
Someone has stolen my identity and applied for credit using my personal information. I have had Identity Theft several times in the past few years. Consequently, I have a 7 year alert on my credit files with all three credit bureaus. No credit is to be issued in my name unless i have been called and given my permission.
I use my answer machine to screen my calls. I don't answer the phone unless the caller leaves a name and I recognize it. I get many calls I don't pick up because the caller did not identify themselves. It could be some of these were attempts to verify that I applied for credit.

The Fraud Alert you have in place worked like it should, so exactly what is the RipOff from them?
I guess you would have prefered them to just not notify you that someone tried to apply for credit in your name.
