If you buy anything from Computer Geeks or Geeks.com you better be careful. My experience is that most of the stuff is broken when you get it or it breaks soon after. Also they advertise things as NEW and it is used junk.

I referend a co-worker to them, becasue it was close and he needed a disk drive fast. He bought 2 and they were listed as NEW. When he plugged them in they had Windows XP and application software on them. He took them back for a refund, but wasted half a day buying returning and going to another store just to get what he needed. Who knows how old those 2 drives were, but they had been used.

I bought a digital camera and it worked fine for a few months, then started having problems. I was referred to the manfacturer; it was the old "Not our problem" from Geeks. No offer to help exchange anything.

I bought an MP3 player and the thing never worked, but came with no instructions so I tried to make it work. After a week I took it back and get "Sorry we can only give you store credit!". So there I was with a broken device and store credit.

To use my store credit I bought another piece of junk, a flat screen monitor that had been "refurbished". It had a 90 day warranty and I really never used it much. Unfortunately when I did start using it, it was just out of warranty. I took it back and got the same crap "Sorry it is out of warranty there is nothing we can do!". Why couldn't they just go in the back and grab another piece of junk which would probably fail in 90 also? But their attitude is screw you we got your money and you got a busted piece of junk! They even have a repair facility, but no offers to repair unless I pay to have it fixed. Hey wait a minute I already paid for the d**n thing once isn't that enough!

So BUYER BEWARE! I'd suggest that you go ANYWHERE else and try to find a good price with a store that understands and appreciates your business!!

GEEK.COM Oceanside ca "BAIT AND SWITCH" artist!

AUTHOR: Bucky - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Thursday, May 07, 2009

I ordered an LG External DVD burner/lightscribe thru GEEKS.COM in Oceanside CA. Don't order anything from Geek.COM they sell JUNK. They sent me a Used and/or Open box. They said it was "NEW"? the FACTORY seal was broken on the software, DISC WAS BROKEN and scotch tape was used instead over the FACTORY seal. The ac/adapter was not black twist tied. They fail to email you. They do the old rip-off scheme "Bait and Switch". Customer service is long distance and you hold for up to 45 minutes and then you transfer to tech support and talk to someone else! At no time did a "live" customer service person say they are sorry.
