My wife and I hired Gempel Masonry Inc. to add some stone exterior to our home. They were to add lime stone around a window in the back of our home and around the garage doors. The quality of workmanship was horrible. The workers scratched up our bay window in the rear of the house. The seal around the garage doors is a seal that is used around an interior door frame not for a garage door.

We contacted Mark Gempel, the owner of Gempel Masonry Inc., and informed him that the garage doors were completed incorrectly and he admitted that the seal used on the doors were the wrong kind. He stated that he would return to our home the next day to fix the seal on the garage doors, however, he never came back. We called Mark repeatedly, but we have not heard from him again.

We are now forced to take legal action against him and his company in Geauga small claims court. As we were getting quotes from other masonry companies to fix Gempel Masonry Inc's work, for the legal action, we were told that this is not the first time the other vendors have given quotes to repair work that Gempel Masonry has done.

I would strongly advise anyone looking to have stone work done on their home to look elsewhere. Mark Gempel and his company Gempel Masonry Inc, do not do quality work and when asked to fix their mistakes you never hear from them again.

I will follow up with how the legal action goes.
