Several years ago I tried to purchase a vehicle from Gene Stevens Honda dealership in Findlay, Ohio.
I picked out a vehicle I liked and then talked to salesman that day.
I gave them $5000 deposit and they said they would process the financing for the vehicle.
They told me a day or so later that there were still searching for a bank to finance me.
They did let me drive the vehicle while they were trying to get the financing worked out.
Days went by, and then weeks went by, same old story from them that they were still trying to get a bank, etc., to finance me
I had already purchased 2 vehicles from that dealership in previous years and both were paid in full.
After over a month went by with the same old story of they were trying to find a place to finance me I asked for my money back and I would go elsewhere to find a vehicle.
They gave me a story that they would keep $500 of my money for cleanup fee, etc, for the vehicle they let me drive for the last month.
They asked me to drive it, I would of been happy just driving my own vehicle while they did the financing.
They gave me refund minus $500 and I left.
I filed complaint with the BBB on the dealership
Several days after that I got a call from Gene Stevens dealership that they would give me the balance of $500 back.
I found out later by checking my credit report that they never did a credit thing on me as there is part on your credit report that will show who has done a credit check on you and it showed nothing from that dealership or any other finanace company, etc during that time period that I was trying to buy a vehicle from Gene Stevens dealership.
I went to another dealership here in town and got financed right away with no problem.
Summed up, I will never go back to that Gene Stevens dealership and I urged no one else to go there without first checking things out on that dealership and do not let them ripped you off as they tried to do to me.

Just a added note.
Overall just be careful when buying a vehicle at Gene Stevens or any other car dealership.
They are out to sell vehicles and will do whatever they can to sell one or maybe not sell one.
I feel I was not treated fairly and was put off for such a long period of time while they said they were working on my financing. Like I said, after that I went to a different major dealership in town and got financed right away.
After buying 2 vehicles from Gene Stevens before that time I feel I was treated unfairly and by very rude sales people that work there.
I do not recommend Gene Stevens dealership in Findlay, Ohio. You be the judge and be careful shopping around.
