OK, tell me this doesn't sound like the biggest lemon ever!
I've owned this car for over a while , and it has given me nothing but trouble! I have spent more time under, around, and inside this car trying to fix the most ridiculous list of problems imaginable! I've had the engine out and rebuilt at 100k miles, and now have acquired another engine in hopes that it will help, but that isn't even going to fix 10% of the problems this car has!
For one thing, it's a Chevy, so it's a big car! You would think that it would come with certain necessities, like power steering or power brakes, right? NO! It doesn't even have disc brakes! And they barely work! I suppose I have to upgrade THOSE, too! And the electrical? Forget it! I have to open the trunk and jiggle the tail lights to make sure they work before I drive anywhere, and, when I get there, I have to pull the negative cable off of the battery to keep it from being completely drained when I get back out!
And then we come to the interior and exterior. The seat covers are completely falling apart, it only has AM radio (fortunately, I listen to NPR), and there isn't a single in tact seal on the car! The only thing I can say is that the body is tight; the doors shut as easily and solidly as my wife's Volvo, as do the trunk and, for the most part, the hood.
Even my uncle, who bought the car from the original owner, had problems with the car, which he documented in a photo album that came with the car. And any communication with Chevy is met with the same form letter response, "we do not advise or advocate making modifications to our products." Come ON! All in all, I have to say I will never buy another Chevy Malibu!

Lemon?

AUTHOR: Robert - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Wednesday, April 02, 2008

A lemon deals with new cars. You had to have the engine rebuilt at 100,000 miles, which says this car is not anywhere near a new car. You are also the third owner. You have no idea how the original owner or your Uncle treated the car. Also, after time things just wear out.

"You would think that it would come with certain necessities, like power steering or power brakes, right? NO! It doesn't even have disc brakes!" and "it only has AM radio"

Not having a feature does not make it a lemon. That just means that it was probably a "base" model with little to no options. These are built specifically for the people who do not want to spend the extra money on what they consider luxuries. If these were that important to you, then you should have not gotten the car.

If your Uncle had that many problems where he made a "photo" album why in the world did you buy it?

And ?

You bought a Chevrolet Malibu. What model year is it ? Apparently it is several years old, as you are the 3rd owner, and there are over 100,000 miles on it. Any car will have problems eventually, but it gets hard to call a car a lemon after that many miles.
