I would like to make the general public aware that the LT275/70/R18/E tire that comes stock on the 2005 F350 superduty are NOT fit for the MUD RAIN NOR SNOW under any circumstances.

I have 19,000 miles on the tires and they are not suited to plow snow even in 4x4. My F350 is a great machine I love it but the tires leave much to be desired good for dry paved roads but off road no chance.

I am dissapointed in Ford and their selection of tires and to that end they have put a sour taste in my mouth twards Ford Motors in their "Better idea" I think they have lost me as a customer.

It is in my opinion that to make the MOST in profit Ford has decided to go with second rate tires, thereby putting at risk the safety my my family and anyone who has continental tires on their 2005 F350 superduty

Not sure if this helps you

I spent a whole 30 seconds in a Google Search and found Cooper has a winter tire that may fill your needs. It is a 275/65R18 and it's called a Discoverer S/T. From Tiresavings.com, it sells for $218 each. Here's the copy for it.

"Discoverer S/T

Light Truck Winter

The Cooper Discoverer ST tires have Large, beefy tread elements. Designed for off-road applications while providing long, even wear in highway applications. The cooper discoverer st tires have Deep tread and scalloped shoulder design Maximizes traction in soft surfaces. Beveled treadblock edges on the cooper discoverer st tire. Fights irregular wear and improves self-cleaning capabilities. M+S Rated. (Studding available at extra charge) The cooper discoverer st tire is a M+S Rated light truck winter tire."

Hope that helps you. Good luck.

correct you are

YES My 05 f350 has worthless contitrac tires too. What you failed to mention is that there are no other tires manufactured by anybody that will fit this 18 inch rim. My truck has a plow prep package. Who would have thought that you simply can't buy snow tires for it. Also, you can't just put different rims on it because of the extra-large disc brakes. I guess we should just buy and install brakes and hubs for a 2006 model that has 17 inch rims that we can then buy and then buy propper snow tires for them. Or we can jack the truck up so that we can fit big goofy Texas looking mudder tires. I guess we are just unreasonably mad that we can't use our commercial plowing trucks for commercial plowing. Ford has offered absolutely no help. What pricks. If you look up the contitrac, it is called a light truck/SUV tire. Definately not an appropriate plowing tire. That guy in Texas just doesn't get it. Never again.

All You People

All you people that have F-350's, that they use to plow snow with, raise your hand. Let's see, one, one, one. That's it, one person? All you people that use your F-350 on the highway and want a better ride and better gas mileage, raise your hands. 50,000, 100,000, anymore? That's true though, they don't normally put top of the line tires on new nehicles.
