I placed an order online for an RV Generator from generatorsforless.com (which appears to be part of Norwall.com and Norwall Power Systems) on February 18th for $1829, plus some other parts and pieces for installation of it.  At the time of purchase, the internet site clearly stated that the unit was IN STOCK.  Two days later I receive a phone call from a snippy gal named "Jennifer", who informed me that the unit was now out of stock even though at the time I purchased it online she acknowledged that the status was in stock.  She told me that I could still purchase the unit, but it would now cost $2258.  Her reason was because new stock would have to be ordered from the manufacturer.

I asked to speak with a manager.  She told me none would be available for two more days.  When I refused to agree to pay the additional $400+ for the generator in question and insisted she cancel my entire order, stating that I had a good mind to write a complaint online about this, she hung up on me.  I called back and spoke to another gal whose name I forgot, asking to speak to a manager to file a complaint.  She told me the same thing.  After trying to get me to purchase a larger generator that was not as expensive, then me telling her I just wanted the one I purchased on line, she told me quickly to have a nice day and hung-up on me.

So I got back on line and went shopping for the same generator.  Sears.com came up and redirected me to none other but this same company offering to sell me this same generator for the same $1829 price.  Bizrate.com did the same thing.  Nextag.com did the same thing.  I took screenshots of each for reference, by the way.

After a little more searching I found the same unit for a good deal less than the $2258 I was secondarily quoted by Norwall Power Systems and GeneratorsForLess.com.

This is, in my opinion, terrible business practice, and a clear case of bait and switch.  Not cool.

My Experience Is True

AUTHOR: Michael - ()

POSTED: Thursday, February 27, 2014

My experience is true, regardless of what others think or want.  Although I think it's great that the individual that submitted his rebuttal to my review had two positive experiences out of two, it does not change the facts of the very negative experience I had with this company.  It's been 2 years since that incident, and I have not so much as had an inquiry nor apology from them.

My opinion as a satisfied customer

I have now purchased 2 home standby generators and multiple transfer switches from this company, Norwall Power Systems. I came across this report during a search of Norwall and feel that it was harsh and somewhat overstating the issue.. I have dealt with Norwall now for two and a half years... This is a reputable company that does care about its customers.. I am not going to write a flowery thing, I just want to say that I feel this original statement made buy this individual was over the top since I buy repeatedly from Norwall and find that they are courteous and their prices are very fair.. They always try to make each purchase worry free... These are just my thoughts after I read what I found on ripoffreport.com about Norwall Power Systems.
