Genesis Academy ...unethical, will take Advantage of you for their gain! Warner Robins Georgia

My name is Tamara H****, and I would like to report a childcare location that parents should be cautious of doing business with. I am brand new to the area, and was shopping around for care for my 3 year old son. Yesterday, I took him to Genesis Academy to inquire about rates and openings because I had just been informed that the place I intended to send him was suddenly no longer accepting new children. I needed care in a pinch for that day (given the situation), but was told that they had no drop in rates and I would have to pay for a full week...so I wrote a check because I was pressed for time. My child was at Genesis Academy from 8:45 am until 12 pm, at which time I went to pick him up and request a cancellation of my enrollment.

I had time to think about it more, and realized that this location was a little far from my home and I wanted to go with another option long-term. Of course, I knew I would owe them something for 3.25 hrs of care and something for the trouble of processing my paperwork. The owner deemed that the something owed would be the full $65 registration fee plus $50 for the day, for a total of $115. Am I the only one who thinks that something is wrong with this?? What if I would have completed the paperwork, walked out for just 20 minutes, thought about it, and then came back in to get my child? What would I have owed then? They clearly took advantage of me, and that makes them a ripoff.
