We are done with Genesis Capital of Irvine, California. We completed and fully met all of the terms of our settlement agreeement. 

Now, let me tell everyone, DO NOT DO BUSINES WITH GENESIS COMMERCIAL CAPITAL of IRVINE! They are a bait-and-switch and ripoff company! We found absolutely no one at this company that had any kind of heart or soul. They care nothing about their customers, and I can assure anyone who might be considering doing business with them that you will be disappointed.

During our dispute with them, our 24 year-old daughter was going through cancer treatments, as we attempted to save her life. They did not care. They insisted we pay them money that we did not owe.

We settled for a fraction of what they claimed we owed in their lawsuit against us.

Our daughter died after a four year fight.

I just want to caution anyone against working with this company.

DON'T DO IT !!!!

Please contact me directly if you have a story about this company.  I have a similar situation with this company.  They are 100 % fraudulent leasing company.  Please contact me directly if you have any experience with them.  My cousel is collecting as much information as possible in order to counter sue them and have them investigated by the California Attorney General.  I can not place my name here, but i own an equipment rental business in Georgetown Texas, and there are only 2.  Mine is the one with a website showing equipment rental, event rental, and outdoor power.

At least two of the principals , Eric Sidebotham and Greg Rieke, were previously involved with Balboa Capital, a company which had eventually been sued by the California Attorney General’s  Office- Kamala Harris, for the similar issue, where they were “leasing” equipment to churches and then extorting extraneous leasing charges.  Google Balboa Capital and Kamala Harris suit

Later, those two same principals, created / formed Genesis Capital.

There are a multitude of small business owners that have experienced the exact same issue with the company.

At one time the BBB of California had an “F” rating for the company, based on multiple consumer accounts.  This rating has been ‘massaged’ out, not surprisingly.

There are still many accounts from business owners and individuals that explicitly state the same circumstances: a misrepresented lease, followed by an incredibly aggressive collections structured posture.

The Clerk of Courts for Orange County list Genesis Capital as the plantiff for hundreds of civil cases citing breach of contract.

After months of trying to negotiate some kind of reasonable settlement, these people decided to sue us. So, we counter-sued in court. I was ready to take it all the way. Their attorney called me and offered to settle, but their offer was rediculous, and basically the same as what they had offered before, so we continued with our lawsuit as well.

Finally, we were ordered by the court into arbitration, and it looked like we were never going to get any kind of reasonable offer, until, they finally decided it was in their best interests to settle with me. They negotiated a settlement with us that was not very far from our original offer, and a long way down from the amount that they had sued us for. We felt it was worth it to make it all go away.

So, it is done now, and I no longer have to deal with these people.

Interestingly, I was told by their attorney that one of the people that had been harrassing and threatening us while trying to talk to them had been fired!

All I can say to anyone considering leasing anything is, DO NOT deal with this company! They are dishonest, and they are likely pull a "bait and switch", just as they did to us. I have leased with other companies in the past and never had a problem. This company is just not worth the hassle and aggravation, not to mention the extra money you will spend.

Well, I have been trying now for several months to get somewhere with these people, and nothing has worked. They simply want to yell at you on the phone, harass you with emails and phone calls, and now letters, but they simply refuse to talk to me in a civil manner and try to resolve the dispute. They have called me, and my wife, a liar.

The only way I could get them to stop the harassment was to first send them a cease and desist letter, start recording the telephone calls, and then to get my attorney to send them a letter. 

If you look at the BBB web site, you'll find that they claim they have wonderful customer service. My experience with them is quite the opposite.

Based on my dealings with them, it is my considered opinion, that no one should ever do business with this company. 

Since, on the BBB web site they claim they are trying to negotiate an equitable settlement with me, (which is simply not true), I at least have them on record saying that this is what they want to do.

I am not optimistic that I will ever be able to settle with this company.

I finally sent a letter to Genesis Capital, and I received a phone call. When I asked why no one ever called me back, he simply said that he, (they), had not received any messages from me. OK. So, if I give these guys the benefit of the doubt, it is certainly possible that their phone system is not working correctly.

Currently, I am talking to them, and they appear to be willing to try to find an equitable solution to my particular situation. Now that I finally have contact with them, and they appear willing to settle my concerns fairly, one cannot ask for more than that from any company.

I will post an update once I have a final outcome.
