My mother received a letter from "Alibris Research Center" in the mail with a $4850.00 check. They said they had recently called her for a survey and they wanted her to be a mystery shopper and go to stores such as walmart, home Depot, JC Penny, shop and report back how the employees and the store was, then send a money gram to a Rebekah (insert your last name). The check was to be deposited in to her bank account and once it had cleared she was to start her "Assignments" She was to spend money at the stores, make a money gram and keep $300. for herself for the work she had done. She called the bank the check was from and they told her is was a legit bank account for a major company, the account was active. Although we could not find anything online about this company "Alibris research center" she opened a new account for this,did her shopping, filled out reports and made the money gram for 4300.00 and faxed over all the reports and info. She called the company and let them know she had finished. The next day she received a call from her bank that the "company" had stopped payment on the check, leaving her negative in that account and froze all her other accounts.

These people will not answer the phone from her home number but has for others. They hang up as soon as she says who she is. Ive looked all over the internet for this number, I found it it a prepaid cell phone out of Canada. I then decided to type in the fax number and that's where I found it! SO many people, same amount of money, same letter, all different cites all over the united states, different number and names for the "research center" but the SAME FAX number!!

I have not seen anyone's outcome yet so I guess this is pretty new. Ive found a few people that had the same company name but none yet with the same Alibris research center. All the addresses are bogus, they do not exist. The cell phones are out of canada and the fax number is out of FL. We have made a police report because this is theft. They kept their money plus the 4300 my mother sent them and now she owes the bank. Even though she is not obligated to pay; them it can ruin her credit.

I wanted to list all the names they use so others can be aware.

The cell phones are through FIDO Solutions but Im pretty sure they are prepaid. The fax service is through Telcove investment. The number is located in FL but the company is through the internet at telco solutions and they can revieve these faxes via email. However, someone owns theses bank accounts. We may not be able to find the cell numbers but someone owns the bank account and is paying for the fax service.

Hopefully through this someone can help us. They have to be stopped. My mother called one of the other numbers and when she told they she was finding out all this information and was going to find them a man told her "kiss my a*s" and hung up on her. This is insane. No one needs this, especially around Christmas! So please, if anyone can help or lead us in the right direction it would be greatly appreciated.
