Gentle Dental Care Dr. Earl Gaball, DDS Verbal Abuse/Slander/HIPPA Violation Battle Creek MI Michigan

I have extreme fear and panic and the first appointment I had, they folks were so nice, I was put at ease, then when I went in for my cleaning, the dental hygienist was yelling at me in the chair because she didn't like that my mouth wasn't open wide enough. She would not allow my husband to even hold my hand. We both were completely floored by how unprofessional she was! Dr. Gaball walked by and overheard her yelling at me and I think he may have thought there was more going on than what there was. Because she was yelling at me, "I'm not going to fight you!" I was not fighting!! I was crying and my teeth were even beginning to chatter because of how freaked out I was! He then came in and was quite rude with us and very firmly came in and said, "if you are not going to cooperate, then there is nothing we can do for you!" Then he walked off. I truly was trying. I was lying in the chair, holding as still as I could, crying and hyperventilating as this witch kept yelling at me! My teeth were chattering!! Finally, after the ump-tenth time of her yelling at me saying, there is nothing we can do here. You are going to have to go to U of M! I asked what about IV sedation? This is why I went to them in the first place! She said, "No, we are not going to do that! You will just have to go to U of M!" I jumped out of that chair, took the gas off and said, "Fine!" Then I grabbed my purse and left. Right before turning around and telling her, "You know, you could show a little compassion!" When I turned to walk off, she turned and very rudely looked at my husband and told him, "You may want to go after her, she's under the influence."Now, I'm a lot more traumatized. Scared even more of dentists offices. I prepaid for my services. I called and asked them for a refund because I paid for a service that was not done. I was told by Bobbie, the manager that I would receive a refund. This was in May. Still no refund.

In the mean time, I have found another dentist office who looked at my teeth and x-rays and it was not recommended that I have the tons of work needed that this office was scaring me into. I called the office today, talked to Bobbie, the manager, who was not as nice this time who stated that the accountant is on vacation until the 10th. She stated that she submitted the request to the accountant, who brings it to the doctor then they issue a refund. She said she did not know if they sent the refund or not yet. I told her obviously not since I had not received it. She agreed that she probably did not send out a refund. I asked her how long before I can expect a refund typically because this accountant, obviously hasn't been on vacation since MAY! She did not know and told me to call the accountant after the 10th. I left this same statement as a negative google review. They have since responded back attempting to leave specific information in their response along with attempting to slander me on the public internet calling me uncooperative and disruptive, making it sound as though I was a threat saying they feel it is best for me to go somewhere else for the safety of their staff and patients. I feel that they have broken HIPPA by doing this and also slandering me. I am a Registered Nurse and I cannot imagine treating a patient in this matter. At minimum, I feel I should have my refund. I also feel that I should receive an apology from this office.
