I paid Labshops.com nearly 400 dollars (inc. shipping) for a LW Scientific microscope camera, not knowing that the camera had been discontinued 5 years ago by them, and that labshops.com / Azzota sold me a forgery, a fake camera, a counterfeit. LW Scientific's VP of sales confirmed this to me by phone.

There were no Windows 7 drivers or any 64-bit drivers and there was no serial number or model number on the device.

I called Geoff Darling, owner of Azzota, the owner of labshops.com and confronted him with the issue of counterfeit products. He said: "Our company produces COPIES of other companies' products, not "counterfeits".

He was unable to provide me with a Windows 7 driver and unwilling to take back the device.

We lost 500 dollars because we had to pay 100 dollars import tax into Europe. The camera is a counterfeit of an obsolete model.

We're notifying PayPal, eBay, Amazon.com and VISA, as well as the FBI that labshops.com / Geoff Darling / Azzota Corp. sells useless, expensive Chinese counterfeit garbage. Counterfeit products are against the TOS of these service providers and labshops.com should be banned by them.

Azzota are Chinese Ebay scammers

AUTHOR: Frank - ()

POSTED: Friday, August 29, 2014

I am Frank de Groot, purchase manager and lab engineer for Vaughter Wellness, as well as their webmaster and allround technical person.

Azzota is trying to make me appear as some kind of blackmailing scammer, but in fact it is them who are the scammers:

Azzota’s business model is to buy up surplus merchandise at auctions or from Chinese manufacturers stuck with unsellable wares. Worthless rubbish, essentially. This stuff is then peddled at eBay and on their own website. Buyer beware.

The scammers’ address on their invoice was Abbota corp, 46 A Mara Road, Lake Hiawatha, NJ 07034, USA but the fraudsters seem to change their name and location often, as Abbota became Azzota:

The company’s representative in the US, Geoff Darling (geoff@azzota.com), says that Azzota is owned by a Chinese man named Roy Shao, roy@azzota.com. None of their listed addresses is their real address. Their “Head office” is a mailbox for the attorney that set up the company for its Chinese owners. The address on the packing list appears not in use because our return was refused.

azzotaThis is their fake trademark. The “Abbota” trademark has status “abandoned” and the Azzota trademark is not even a real trademark – it’s unregistered so that you can not find out who is behind the company.

#1 UPDATE Employee

Mr. deGroot fraudulent claim.

AUTHOR: Geoff Darling - ()

POSTED: Friday, August 29, 2014

1- I did not sell anything to Mr. De Groot. A purchase through our on-line shopping site (labshops.com) was made by Vaughter Wellness on 6/29. We shipped exactly what Vaughter Wellness ordered...an LW Scientific MicroVid microscope camera. I only became aware there was a problem when Mr. De Groot called to make threats. Please understand that we all work from remote offices and do not regularly discuss sales activities. I still have no information about any relationship between Vaughter Wellness and Mr. De Groot.

2- I have been no idea why Mr. De Groot indicated that I was rude. I explained that I had no information about the order and had not received any claim information. I gave him my email address and asked that he send me details of the claim so that I could investigate and get back to him. He then made more threats and hung up on me. I have specifically not responded to his several threatening emails since then.

3- I discussed this transaction with our general manager, who informed me that PayPal was investigating the allegations under PayPal Case #PP-003-262-886-476. The results of the PayPal investigation are that "the tracking information provided by the buyer could not confirm that (Azzota) have received the item associated with this claim. The case is now considered closed and no refund is due."

As far as I am concerned, Azzota has done everything expected of a vendor. We sold and shipped the exact item, and not a fake, that was purchased by Vaughter Wellness. We were and are prepared to accept a return of this item in original packing and we will immediately issue credit to the buyer via PayPal UPON RECEIPT of the return, or verification of delivery of the item to us.

As I stated earlier, I did not in any way handle any part of this transaction...I just happened to answer the phone the day Mr. De Groot began his threatening phone calls. Perhaps you can clarify what Mr. De Groot's role is in a transaction we had with Vaughter Wellness. Since the return of the item cannot be determined so far, it appears that perhaps Mr. De Groot is a fraud, attempting to scare not just Azzota but probably others, into paying false claims.

i I am not the owner of Azzota, I am only an employee.
