George Street Photo and Video is a scam.

We needed photo and video services for our wedding and engagement photo shoot. For our Special Day.

We found George Street online. Their sales person, Stacy, called and texted us every day until we signed the contract with them and gave them our deposit of almost $2,000.

Then the bait and switch happened.

The photographer we wanted (and signed the contract for) turned out to be double booked and they give us someone else who they probably wanted to give us from the get go.

This other photographer that they sent us for our engagement photo session told us flat out that she only does this as a hobby. She snapped pictures of us for 1-2 hours and gave us no direction at all as if we were already professional models.

2 weeks after this "photo shoot" George Street notified us that our pictures were ready and online. We tried to login online and we couldn't find them. We emailed them, a couple of days later we got a reply that they're still working on uploading them.

A couple more days later we were told the pictures were shipped to us via a USB stick.

2 weeks after that we didn't receive anything in the mail. We call and email George Street and they tell us that no USB was sent out after all and they'll get it sent out now.

Another 1 week later, we still haven't received our engagement photos, and ask George Street to upload them to dropbox or something like that. We have to call them everyday to check on the status of this, and this is finally done.

So 5 weeks after our photoshoot, we finally see our engagement photos. The photos look like they were taken from an ordinary handheld camera, with no touch ups of any kind.

We ask George Street to touch up these photos. They tell us 2-3 weeks.

We wait another 5 weeks, and hear endless excuses about the delay. From it's a busy season to anything and everything else.

The photos come back and they still look like s**t. One touch up included turning the color of the sky to TEAL. Are you kidding me!?

We tried to cancel but their "manager", Jacob Burroughs, was incredible rude to us on the phone. All he kept on saying was, "I understand but you signed the contract". That's it. We signed the contract and received s**t service, but we signed the contract therefore there's nothing he can do.

We tried emailing, calling, texting, the original sales person, Stacy, to see if she can help us out, but she wouldn't return any call or email or text.

We filed a chargeback with them via our credit card company. For the credit card company we needed a letter from another studio attesting that the work provided was not professional. We did not have any trouble procuring such a letter.

 Bottom line:

1. George Street is located in Chicago and outsources their work to unqualified independent photographers in other cities and takes no responsibility for their work whatsoever.

2. Their management is rude and will try to prove to you how dumb you are and that you've signed a contract.

Complete bait and switch. Avoid at all costs.

A refund is enough?

So let me get this straight, you hire a company to photograph your wedding. Wedding, supposedly something you are going to do once and it is one of "those days"... a day you never want to forget. So the investment here is monument to future memories (sorry to get sappy here, just being real).

This company comes in, completely FUBARs the whole operation and you are happy with a refund? Weird.

I found your complaint when searching for Wedding photographers and I will definitely not be calling on this company. Thank you for your report and keeping the rest of us away. Sounds like it was miserable.

Jeff from George Street has contacted us and offered a full refund, which we accepted.

Jeff was a stark difference from Jacob, it must have been an employee training issue with Jacob.
