Georgia State Fraternal Order Of Police Abusive work enviroment, encouraging high turnover Augusta Georgia

This disgusting place set up shop in Augusta Georgia as "Civic Development Group". Now they boast of being completely run by the Georgia FOP, but essentially have the same staff and are "consulted" by CDG.

I am making statements of my opinion and should not be taken as fact thusly, however, the fact that I oftentimes wanted to resort to physical violence against the staff when in my life I have never felt that way in a work enviroment should speak volumes. Draw your own conclusions.

The work environment is, I feel hostile and abusive, with coaches running around shouting for more dollars, clapping hands, making TSRs stand up if they are not getting pledges. People are sent home early, and written up if they do not fulfill the minimum amount of hours. Screaming, nasty coaches who try to abuse and brainwash young minds into being good little thieves.

If it's such a good job, why do they print up so many cards to recruit new employees? Why do they constantly pitch for the refer-a-friend program? There would be a waiting list to work there! One would watch the obituaries hoping that an employee died so there'd be a vacancy.

The calling lists are suspicously full of elderly people, the sick, the infirmed, the helpless.
The coaches listen in on the calls and when potential "victim", er, donor states a very good reason for not wanting to donate, such as having terminal cancer, unemployed, etc..the manager runs up, mutes the button and states a vicious reason that we should, indeed take their money anyway and harass them.

I myself was written up for "feeling sorry" for a customer who had serious, serious problems. Any sane person would not give $25 or even $10 to a BS police charity for a sticker and a wallet card, and the techniques designed to browbeat even intelligent people into donating should rightfully earn the creators of said techniques, and perhaps telemarketing itself a place in Hell.

If you knew that a coach mutes the headset and screams "Spit the Redman out of your mouth!" to someone whose personal time we interrupted and expressed hostility towards their reluctance to well, get ripped off, you would personally want to drive to the facility to physically injure them. DO NOT GIVE MONEY TO CHARITIES THAT SOLICIT BY TELEPHONE. EVER.

The worst part of it is their call-back list, of people who previously donated get hassled again, the amount increases and it's just a sticker that earns no respect or special treatment from the police. It's not even tax-deductible!!

For the love of God, don't let the money they offer entice you, don't let the false sense of respect for being a good salesman give you esteem, do not let the simple pursuit of a paycheck let you tarnish your soul and your morals. Get paid now, later on karma will bite you in the butt for being a thief, not actually helping the police, only filling the coffers of already rich people whom prey on the weak and helpless. Set yourself free. Work two restaurant jobs, work anything but this.

Some things are more important than money, like your honor. Boycott them. Don't give them money. I interviewed many a police officer and none of them are familiar with this organization and have not heard of their department actually receiving bulletproof vests from this organization.

Say "Please remove my name from the list", and hang up.
Any money you donate will only help some post adolescent put nice rims on a car his parents bought for him, or a nicer cellphone, or mall clothes. 98 percent of the employees who work there are toxic singles who only live and exist for disposable income, to keep the pop culture/merchandise wagon going.

Tell 'em to to straight to h*ll. And if some guy was shot 9 times in the line of duty, maybe he should be a rapper instead of loaning his name to a BS police charity. Don't listen to this drivel, they don't care about you, or the police, IMHO.
