I put an item on Craigs list. This guy emailed me first with the email address of ben.gordon206@yahoo.com saying that he was interested and willing to pay my asking price, that he would pay by money order as it was the only way he could pay due to the fact that he was away for an assignment. He was to arrainge for the pick-up after payment was recieved by me. He also was willing to add an extra $20.00 just for me to keep it in his favor. He wanted me to reply with my full name and address where payment should be sent, and to please remove the item from craigslist today and consider it sold to him.

I told him that do to the scam warnings on Craigs list that I would use a PO box for all response to make sure it is a legitimate offer and told him to send the payment to the po box.

He wrote back that he had given his assistant the go ahed to mail the payment to me, and that I should recieve it within 6-7 days.

I recieved another email this time from bengordon2009@aol.com stating that his assistant had somehow overpaid me and the payment was meant for another transaction and sent to me in error and to please deduct my money and send the remaining via Western Union to the representative of the moving company for the pick up and that he would provide teh info I needed to complete the transfer once I recieved payment. I told him I would keep and eye out for the payment. I then recieved another email from bengordon2009@aol.com appoligizeing for not writing sooner but he was presentl in the hospital sick (this guy is a piece of work), and that payment would be delivered to my address in a few days. I wrote him back after catching him in a lie (he had told me his assistant had already mailed it in an earlier email), I told him that when we did not recieve the payment that your assistant had supposedly sent that we figured he was a scammer and we sold the item to another party.

Now 3 days later I recieved 2 money orders from Gerald T. McCaughey for $950.00 numbered 101 and 102 drawn out of chase bank. Since I was not expecting any payment especialy to that po box, I googled the name and found this site with other complaints and figured the whole thing out. Needless to say I went to Chase to see if I could cash them (hey why not), but they were bogus.
