Get money tax service is a complete rip off. I went to get an estimate on my refund with my paystubs and when I decided to just get thed loan they filed my taxes anyway. When I went into the office to pay the loan off they told me it was to late. then they gave me these outragous price for fees. After complaining to the person in charge I was told that they would take money off of my fees which never happend. I went back again to get the so called money order of the difference they told me I was going to get and there was always a reason why it wasnt there. Finally I was told that if I amend my taxes because I was a student I would get more money back at no fee yeah right I was given $50 for my trouble in cash and still havent heard back on my amendment! I want my money that I worked for and if you cant trust these companies what are people to do?

Why?

Why is it every year people complain about these storefront tax services, and the very next year they go back to them? Why do people opt for next day tax loans instead of waiting two weeks for their actual refund? People are impatient and greedy, that's why. The tax preparers are greedy because they want to charge ridiculous fees ($500 - $1000), and the taxpayers are impatient and greedy. They are impatient because they have to have their money right now, so they put themselves in a losing situation by getting a next day tax loan. The taxpayer who needs their taxes prepared needs to learn patience. They should wait two weeks to get their money. It's cheaper.

Also, there is really no difference between Get Money Tax Service, Instant Tax Service, Mo Money Tax Service, Liberty Tax, H&R Block, Jackson Hewitt, etc. They all offer the same service. They all have next day loans (but they have other cheaper options they are required to make the consumer aware of, but never do). They all charge large amounts for simple tax returns. They all have advertising gimmicks to get you in the door (example: Free tax return preparation, or Fees starting as low as $39.95). Rarely will consumers go into any of these tax services and find people well versed in the 1040 tax law (individual taxation).

Finally, do not think because someone is an attorney or a CPA they are automatically well versed in tax law. Lawyers, depending on which state they practice in, have 0-5 tax questions on the bar exam. That means they DON'T know the tax law when they initially become an attorney. CPA's have more knowledge of tax than a tax attorney, but if they don't specialize in taxes, a consumer would be in the same boat if they went to Get Money Tax Service. An enrolled agent is a good choice, because they only specialize in tax. Many degreed accountants and CPAs specialize in taxation, but the consumer has to inquire about their experience. But again, an enrolled agent always specializes in tax.

Here it is the first week of May and I am still waiting on my amended refund! I took a moment to reach the IRS to find out when I should be receiving the amended refund and the woman thought I was crazy. She asked me all kinds of questions to do some research for my refund and what I was told you would never guess. After talking to her she informed me that there was never an amended tax report filed. 12 weeks thats how long she told me. 8 to 12 to be exact! that was the first of march last of february. what am I to do now? I called all of the numbers for each location listed on line and none of the numbers are any good. I have even tried to contact the corporate office with no luck at all. can anyone post the number to reach someone please.
