I bought a 2013 Forest River Evo from Giant in Corona. From almost the beginning we have been very disappointed and even furious with Giant sales and service. I will outline all the problems we have experienced and hope that we get some resolution because it is absolutely ridiculous how many problems we have encountered.

I will start with the delivery of the trailer. Myself, my father, and my 2 daughters came to pick up per our salesman Dan. We were there for almost 3 hours. We did paperwork and they took my truck to service to install the hitch After over an hour they finally brought my truck back. While waiting Jason in the Corona office did our "delivery walk through" if that is what you want to call it. This was short and inadequate. We were shown a few of the features. Nothing extensive was done. The stove and oven was never lit and the air/heater was never turned on. These both caused problems later which I will explain.

After bringing our new trailer home we started to put our stuff in it and that is when we started to notice things weren't right. We first noticed little things but still things that should have been right. The blind clips were not lined up so the blinds were not able to be secured in place on all but 2 windows. We notices the locks on the storage compartments were stuck because of the placement of the framing screws. I had to move the screws myself so that I was able to latch and unlatch the doors. We notices a crack in the back panel of the dinette booth. The bottom bunk has a 45 degree angle that was not cut properly which caused a very sharp corner to protrude from the vinyl padding and cut my daughters leg.

We then took our first trip in the trailer and wow did things go very wrong. We will start with when we arrived and then went inside to set up after we put out the slide out my wife saw a huge indentation on the curved panel below the sink area. The drawer under the couch had slid out in transit and punch a huge hold in the panel. The flimsy clip that holds the draw in does nothing. We then realized that the air had never been run previously. We found this out when my wife was finished making breakfast and had everything out for us to serve ourselves. It was hot in the trailer so I turned on the AC. As soon as the air started to blow ALL the sawdust from the cutting that was done come flying out all over the trailer. All over the food, our beds, bathroom, clothes and toiletries. There was a pile on top of the toilet paper roll. We then had to trow out all our food because it was COVERED in sawdust. Needless to say my wife and myself were very upset to put it nicely. That evening we found out the heat didn't work properly. When you switch the heat on the air also comes on. So this defeats the purpose of having heat on. Next is a big one. My wife was cooking breakfast the next morning outside. She asked me to light the oven. I went inside and lit the pilot. When I then turned the temp up the flame circled around and shot straight out into my face and singed my beard. I was lucky that I was able to move out of the way fast enough and also that it was me and not my wife who's hair would have likely caught fire if she had been lighting the oven. After calming down I inspected the oven sand found the coupler nut was not tightened which allowed the flame to shoot out of the oven. Next after all of this, as we were making dinner my wife turned on the hood fan. Guess what happened. The metal shavings from the cutouts came flying out all over the stove and counter. Dinner had to be thrown out. At this point we are absolutely furious!!! How do all these things get missed when there should have been a quality check or two done on this trailer before we got possession of it, RIDICULOUS!

We do understand that the cosmetic stuff is an EVO problem but where we are upset is the way we were treated by Giant RV when we called about the problems. I called the day we got back from our trip. I talked to the manager Matt Norman in Corona. I went through the list of things that happened and he told me the sawdust flying and filling our trailer and into all our food was just an inconvenience and took no responsibility for that. Same with the metal shavings flying out of the hood vent. Just and inconvenience not their fault. I then told him about the flame shooting from the stove. That did seem to concern him which i should have along with everything else.

We brought the trailer into Giant in Corona on March 5th, 2013 in the morning. We then followed Matt over to service where we all met with the service manager Dave. We went over all the issues we had with the trailer and I believe it was 15 different problems. We were told by Dave that he would submit the issues right away for warranty and get working on it right away. We explained that we had a trip planned for Easter weekend and needed the trailer back no later than March 26th. He said no problem even if everything isn't fixed he would have it ready for us to take on our trip. We stressed we wanted it back clean as we had brought it to them clean. We were promised a clean trailer back. Dave did call a week later to let us know all our issues were approved for warranty and part were all ordered. We talked again about how I needed the trailer back on the 26th. 2 weeks pass and on Monday the 25th I call Dave and Matt to remind them I need the trailer by Tuesday and even tell them Wednesday is fine. I ask that they deliver the trailer to my house for the inconvenience and Matt agreed to it. On Tuesday I called Dave back to find out when we could expect it to be delivered. He said he was hoping to have some parts on Wed. morning and wanted to wait until 3pm to deliver. We agreed. On Wed.the 27th my wife called Dave to confirm that we would have it by 3pm. Dave said he was not able to get any parts in so no work was done on it. He would have it to us about 3:30pm. That was fine. After we got it back and went inside we saw that the stove was taken apart and not put back together. The parts were lying on the couch which was made down into the bed position. The parts had shifted and left a large scratch in the back panel of the dinette. Also the bottom bunk was turned over and the mattress was folded in half and shoved in the corner. The pilot in the oven was left on and the oven was HOT! They transported it with the pilot on. And to top it off it was so so dirty!!! All the metal shavings that were in the hood vent we're still all over the counter. We called and taked to Dave about it all and all he could do was say sorry.

We had the trailer picked up again on April 8th. After a week Shawn called me on Tuesday to let me know that he was still waiting for parts and would call me back by Tuesday the next week. We did not receive a call so on Friday, April 26 my wife called to talk to Shawn. Once she was finally able to get him to call back she was told that they were still waiting on parts. When she asked why it was taking so long for parts that should have been ordered around March 5th he seemed totally unaware that they had had our trailer for so long. At this point we are both very frustrated because the service department is pointing the finger at Evo and the sales department and the sales department is pointing the finger at the service department. No one is taking responsibility for any of the quality checks or walk through issues. Shawn actually told my wife that they do to quality checks but it's not his fault they don't go camping unit first. She then explained to him that several of the issues were very apparent without us even going camping. He then told my wife that the part for taking so long because everybody at Evo quit three weeks ago. She explained to him our parts should've been ordered in March and he still blamed it on the fact that everybody was quitting At Evo. He said that he would call and get an update on Monday and get back to us. After that conversation my wife called Mike Murphy at the corporate office. She left him a message with a brief description on our complaints and concerns. On Saturday, April 27 I received a phone call from Shawn stating that they got a call from Mike to get the trailer fixed ASAP. He said someone would personally go down and pick up the parts needed from EVO on Monday morning. He said he would have everything done and ready to go before the day was over on Monday. He called us Monday evening around 430 and left a voicemail letting us know it was already for us to come and inspect it. We called him back on Tuesday and didn't hear anything back so called again Wednesday, May 1 and let them know we were going to be coming down at 10 AM to look at our trailer. Shawn was not in and we were told we would be dealing with Dominic.

Upon arrival at giant RV we were nicely greeted by Dominic. He took us out to our trailer and we all inspected it together. Although somethings were fixed fine, many things were fixed but only half a*s. Here's a list of the current issues we still have with the trailer. The back  skirting underneath the right rear of the trailer was screwed back in with drywall screws instead of sheet metal screws. The swivel wall that the TV is mounted to was replaced but still has scuffs and scratches and the lock is too low which does not allow it to rotate completely around. When they reinstalled our TV onto it they screwed the screws into far which are now starting to protrude out of the back of the panel. We were also told by Dave that they installed a lock on the large drawer beneath the couch which rolls out during transit. There is no lock on that drawer at all and when the service department move our trailer it punched another hole in the same siding which we had a problem with before. They tried to cover up the hole with putty. There is also a rip in the leather like material on the right side dinette. This was not there when giant RV picked it up last. And the last issue is the metal shavings in the Hood vent were not cleaned out at all as You were told they would be. We also been told the trailer was cleaned and detailed and ready for us to pick up. When we got there that we realize this is not the case. The trailer has been washed on the outside but the inside was full of fingerprints and smudges all over the place from the workers. Dominic even told us he had been in there wiping things down right before we showed up.

We have been told the neither Evo/Forest River or Giant will do anything to compinsate us for the months they had our trailer or all the mistakes they made. Mike Murphy cares less that his service depatment is so bad and does shotty and crappy work. Please buy from somewhere else!!! Cuz you will get screwed in more ways than one.
