I went there for a regular oil change on my Chevy Cobalt which costs 30 some dollars because of supposedly a special oil filter. Needless to say, I ended paying over $60 for an oil change and that's not the worst part.

The worst part was that they sold me synthetic oil out of the bottles which was not synthetic at all. I watched them pour the bottles that were already opened (not sealed) without them noticing me watching. At the time I asked to purchase a quart of that synthetic to keep for later but they said they ran out, I saw a few left on the shelf so they had some but they lied to me because they didn't want me to find out their deception. I told them about it with the shop manager standing right there (I think his name was Rico) and they all denied it and they called me a liar and to leave the shop.

when I got home, my dad checked the oil filter (because he heard that they don't change oil filters most of the time) and sure enough it wasn't changed. so, i got ripped off on the oil and the filter upcharge.

later that day, we went there me and my dad to complain. we asked the employees to talk to the manager and they said that he wasn't there. when the manager saw us pulling up, he hid in the office at first then he hurried up and got in his car and left.

later on that day we informed the police about their fraudulent and deceptive activities and they said that they had numerous complaints about the place and they are following up. my advice to every one thinking of going there.....DO NOT....DO NOT....DO NOT...... unless you want to be ripped off.

Quick Lube Manager

AUTHOR: Steve - (United States of America)

POSTED: Sunday, July 08, 2012

I truly apologize that our facility did not meet your standards somehow, and I always work will all my customers to resolve any problems they encountered and they are always pleased with the outcome. In a response to your report, Iam personally the manager of the quick lube and my name is Steve. Rico is my assistant manger. We have built our reputation in the community on our honesty and great customer service.

Sadly, the events you are recounting never really occured. Your vehicle is a chevy cobalt, which has the 2.2  Liter engine. Ask any person about your vehicle, it has an internal canister oil filter which we change from on top of the engine and not the bottom of the car. First off, I upcharge the oil filter $5.00 which is my cost. Feel free to contact any auto parts and you will not find that oil filter less than $10.00. Second of all, my employees are highly trained to show the old oil filter that we took out and the new one going in which they did.

I know this because I saw the employee show you while I was there. I make that a requirement specifically for cars with the same engine as yours. Third of all, you need a special tool to take out that specific oil filter and it is a very difficult filter to take off for a regular person, not like the metal oil filters. I highly doubt you have that tool laying around your house Im sorry to say. Every single vehicle that comes through the shop gets the oil filter changed 100% of the time. Feel free to step out of the car and watch us change the oil filter in front of you and show you your old oil filter at any time. I highly doubt your father is going to send you to a place that he heard does not change oil filters.

As far as your oil, well we ask the customer which oil they would like and we only put the oil that the customer asked for. If you asked for synthetic then that is what you got. I back up all my oils 100% guaranteed it is exactly what you asked for, feel free to have a test performed on the oil in your car before you jump to any conclusions. Our synthetic comes in 5 quart jugs most of the time because we quickly run out of the single quart bottles so we may have been out of the single quarts at that time and Im pretty sure you would not want to buy 5 quarts at once.  As part of our oil change service, any time a customer gets low on oil we top off their oil in between oil changes for free so that our cutomers do not have to spend extra money by buying their own oil if they ever needed it.

The only message I recevied from my employees was that a lady called the shop and started cursing at them cause she was not happy with the price that drove a chevy cobalt. You did not ask for the manager because you hung the phone up in their face. you were insulting and very deragatory on the phone is what I was told by my employee. That is not how you resolve anything. I immediately checked the caller id so I can call you back to resolve any issues but you called PRIVATE. I run a professional business and if my employees ever acted out of line with a customer they would be dismissed immediately and they would never call you a liar and kick you out of the shop. Sorry but you never bothered to even come to the shop at all. In case you are not aware, I also provide oil changes for the police cars as well as many reputable establishments in the community and our reputation speaks for itself.

It did not have to come to this and I apologize for any misunderstanding that might have occured.  You have my phone number, so if there is anything I can do to keep you as a customer and make you feel more at ease about the service you received please do not hesitate to call me any time so we can get past this and I will try my best to put a smile on your face. Thank you!!!
