Gibson Truck World, Buyer Beware, Lousy Repair Dept, Bait and Switch Sanford Florida

In response to your public complaint, we would like to add our justified rebuttal. 

You quite rightly brought your truck back to Gibson Truck World when you were concerned there was a problem.  As per our policy to our valued Gibson Truck World customers, we instantly went to diagnose any issues.  Naturally, we are eager to fix any concerns and maintain our excellent reputation. 

Throughout that entire day, our Service Manager tried your starter ONE HUNDRED TIMES and no issue was detected.  In order to further diagnose any potential problem, our mechanics went above and beyond the call of duty by pulling out your starter, checking the appendix, the gear and also inspecting the fly wheel.  If our CERTIFIED mechanics had found a problem with the truck, we would happily have fixed it.  However, despite combined efforts over the period of a full working day, your truck was absolutely fine mechanically, problem free.

Gibson Truck World never received another call from you leading us to believe the issue was resolved.  Instead of returning the truck to us with an apparent intermittent issue and allowing us the opportunity to rectify it, you took this questionable approach of making a public complaint against Gibson Truck World on this website. Your motives continue to confuse us.  After reading your outburst on Rip Off Report, our Service Manager CALLED YOU today, around 4pm on 20 August 2009 and asked you why you did not bring the truck back in for a second diagnosis.  You informed us that you decided to purchase your very own starter on your own.  Anybody is free to easily research the cost of a starter and find it ranges from $108, ranging up the highest price of a $125 Motorcraft from the Ford dealership. The absolute maximum time it would take to install this starter, with labor performed is ONE HOUR.  Gibson Truck World remains baffled how you came up with the price of $487 on your complaint.  However, in order to show our good customer service and care, the owner of Gibson Truck World even offered to refund you the extremely inflated amount you stated of $487.  You angrily stated that you did not want the refund and hung up the telephone on us.

We have done everything possible to rectify any problem you feel you may have had with your truck.  Your complaint is highly unfair.

We would also like to explain our method of inventory control in response to the inaccurate accusations regarding the updating of our website and the amount of trucks we keep in stock.  Gibson Truck World is the ONLY dealer that gives a free return policy with every purchase of a qualified Gibson Certified truck.  Because of that, we choose not to immediately remove vehicles from the internet until the return policy has expired.  Keeping in mind that many times it takes up to 30 days to get funded by the bank.  Gibson Truck World keeps an inventory of between 200 275 trucks in stock at all times on our lot.  We also have an additional 50 75 trucks in transit from service to detail at any given time.
