Gilbert police department, Gilbert police officers I have lived in Gilbert Arizona for about seven years now and recently this is just one of the times I have been harassed by the Gilbert Police Department and seen such unprofessionalism.  Gilbert Arizona

I was driving down Warner Road near Val Vista Road and I had just pulled out of my neighborhood did not make any incorrect traffic violations. once I had pulled up to the light at Val Vista and Warner Road I noticed an officer sped up behind me didn’t have flashing lights on but was sitting behind me at the light. as the light turned green I proceeded through the light and was turning into the gas station use my signals nothing wrong. as a turn in I noticed that the officer is following me he did not have any flashing lights on whatsoever. I pull up next to the gas pump and I noticed he pulls up. The officer pulls up next to me and turns around and pulls up to the pump right next to the one I am at. I proceeded to get out of my car and going to get some gas I noticed the officer is still waiting there just sitting there add a gas pump not getting gas and this is just one of the incidents that I’ve had to deal with. after being inside the gas station for about 15 minutes the officer must have gotten a call or something else and he finally did leave but what my point is here is that even though I was simply just on my way to work not in violation of any laws I was being harassed and followed by an officer. this is not the first time it’s happened either. it’s just ridiculous that I ask Gilbert citizens have to be worried about stuff like this with these Gilbert police officers always looking for the smallest thing they can pull you over for

So recently this is just one of the incidents that I have experienced The Gilbert Police Department they do whatever they want without any consequences unless you’re rich and have money to pay for a lawyer. There is this one Gilbert officer that literally sits at a spot hidden right next to the power plant by my house I see him sitting there literally almost every morning from all the times that I have passed by I could tell he’s not taking radar has no lights on doesn’t look like he’s doing any paperwork laptop is closed. a few times it did look like The officer was resting/sleeping. what I’ve come to realize is that I think the time that I leave every morning is around the end of the officers shift so I’ve noticed he’s just sitting there wasting our tax payer dollars every single morning. I mean literally it seems like he must work a night shift and every morning must just go there and wait for his shift you end which I would assume if a superior officer noticed or a supervisor I don’t think this would be excepted. I think there’s a lot more serious and important issues they should be tending to instead of sitting in a hidden spot next to a power plant every single morning doing nothing.

So what it comes down to is that who is making sure that these officers are doing what they are supposed to? Even though earlier I was not arrested I was scared and Frustrated that I was having to deal with being harassed and followed because in the past I have had instances where Gilbert police officer will lie or make something up. Literally the last time I was pulled over the officer stated that his reason for pulling me over was that I had a blank stare on my face that is exactly what it said in the police report just with that incident I ended up having to deal with the office they’re trying to charge me with a DUI and being harassed for a couple hours which it turns out I wasn’t doing anything illegal and The officer was going the opposite Direction and did not even have enough time to establish that I had some sort of weird look on my face. even the Gilbert officer stated to my girlfriend which I will let you know she was wearing all white T-shirt and all white pants officer Matt Pitman stated to her "oh I don’t need to search you I can pour a bottle of water on you and see everything” and this is a 21-year-old girl. I really don’t think that’s too professional nor appropriate to be saying while you’re working a government job specially as a police officer. something really needs to be done about the Gilbert Police Department it’s getting worse. I have even spoke with many other citizens in the community and from speaking to them they are coming to the same conclusion that I am .we just want them To do their job faithfully and correctly and to be held accountable for their actions and not be able to abuse their power like they have been. i’m not saying it’s every single officer but it is definitely a majority of the Gilbert the police department the whole department needs to be retrained or have a serious company meeting to address what is going on.
