I was in Cancun having major dental work done. I was approached by so many ppl trying to get me to view there "deal" Im not sure where i met the man who met me @ my hotel then put us in a cab & went all the way from the Hotel Zona to the middle of Playa del Carmen..maybe at the airport? . We went into the restaurant of a boutique hotel called the Soul Beach. Quite the place it really was as I stayed there for three nights on the house...haha! As all others before me have stated my story is very similar with the exception of them buying a timeshare from me. I told them I owned one but would not be selling it at that time. After I had returned home I received the same call as the others. Asking for $3000.In order to take my timeshare out if my name and transfer it to the new owners!

Thank God I didn't buy it but only bc the info they had was only partially correct at best bc I had refused to give them the info when I was there. I played along with no intention of giving them a dime. I was very clear that i wasnt selling my timeshare so when they told me there was a check for $38k just waiting in escrow at my credit union the gig was up. Go to any legitimate timeshare website and u can buy what I paid $16,000. 15 yrs ago for $1.00! A couple of years ago I had to pay a company to get rid of three timeshares for me. It cost me around $12,000. And now the timeshare I dont want to sell has been sold and I'm getting how much? Did I mention this was a week before Christmas? After they continued to hound me I got pissed.

I tried calling the bogus numbers they gave me & got no where then I called the Soul Beach and that was enough to make me think it was me who was crazy. They had never heard of gilded rose although the entire main floor was set up w/ crooked sales ppl (now I know why they didn't want to give up there computers so I could play around!) . They told me that there had never been any vacation programs or any programs of any sort at their hotel and that I was mistaken bc there was never a good looking grayish white haired, single American now living in Mexico probably 60's age range who only went by John. He signed my paperwork as just John. When I inquired about a last name he said "who needs one, they will just cause you unesscesary trouble" how odd I thought but didn't peruse it. He said he had been living at the Soul Beach for about six weeks & business was booming with this great product so he planned on staying right where he was for at least the next 6 months! He made plans to have dinner with me and my daughter when i returned in two months. He gave me his phone no. And for the next four days was a huge help to me. He took me shopping for a new suitcase and showed me where the best markets were. He also hustled me out of an extra $1,000. With his bs pesos confusing talk and i thought i was so blessed to have met such a nice guy that I never stopped to think that I was totally being deceived. The last day there I went to take a picture of him & he really flipped on me. The picture came out as a white flash and I could see he was relieved. What a fool believes! I'd like to believe I'm no dummy as I have a Masters degree & have worked as a Clinical Therapist but up until the picture episode John had me.

Ironically he didn't respond to a single mssg once my airplane took flight! I did receive a mssg from a Mexican number about three months after being back home. All it said was "I'm sorry, I really am". At the time I thought it was a wrong no but since believe it was John. I am absolutely sick in every way over this! IS THERE ANYONE AT ALL OUT THERE WHO CAN HELP MYSELF & OTHERS WHO HAVE BEEN ROBBED BY THESE HORRIBLE PEOPLE? I have been lying to my husband (We were split up for 2 yrs and only recently gotten back together) and I think I bought or thought I was buying something...anything...out of spite bc my husband had give me such a hard time about going on vacation, etc. I felt bad abt spending this kind of money and only had it bc I had recently sold my home. I have a contract that means nothing. I gave over $17k to hoodlums & ppl who are no more than a waste of skin.

I am willing to do whatever I can to try to recoup my loss & am willing to help anyone else in the same boat but I dont know how? Thank you for listening and if I can do anything to help you please let me know! One other thing that might be important...i was supposedly deeded a 2 bedroom for 2 wks a year anywhere in the world ...but they didn't do timeshares! That benefit was secondary to the gilded dollars I would receive the beginning if each new year. 9000 to be exact. The way it worked goes like this..they have a platform w/ PRICELINE or EXPEDIA that the general public can't access. This is all lies of course but it sure sounded good at tbe time!When u use their site u r going to be given priority booking & a minimum of 50% off of there published fairs. So if a room costs me $100. on their regular website it will prob cost me around $30 of my 9000 gilded dollars! Should of would of could of known it was too good to be true just like the two free airfare tickets and 2 free timeshare 2 bdrm units w/ no blackouts at no charge! I apologize for the ranting on it just gets me all fired up thinking about what there doing and what they've done. They are criminals plain & simple and should be held accountable by law. How are they still taking advantage of us? Who is going to stop them, it won't be the Mexican authorities that much is for sure!!
