Glanzman Subaru Customer service? More like lack of service. Jenkintown Pennsylvania

I've had a number of bad experiences with the service department at Glanzman, most revolving around their inability to communicate in an honest and timely manner. In addition, I feel that they have improperly repaired my car and may have even contributed to the need for an additional repair.

The first bad experience (in January) involved what started out as a state inspection and a check up of the transmission and became a stressful, expensive replacement of the clutch and a lot of angst about when the car would be done. They seemed incapable of telling me exactly what was going on, if the car would be done that day, or even returning a phone call. Even when I got the car back, there was a smell (like something burning) that persisted for several months. I kept waiting for the survey on my experience, which never came, so I wrote a letter to Glanzman and to Subaru of America.

Both wrote back, promising better service and apologizing. The service manager even said "Would you be willing to allow us to look into that smell you noted, even though it is dissipating?". Well, sure. I took the car back in March and what happened? A lack of communication, a lot of angst, 4 trips back and forth to the dealership to drop off and pick up the car, and a bill for over $500 worth of repairs to something I'm not convinced that they didn't break when they replaced the clutch.

I had planned on holding on to this car for a while, but I may trade it in this summer, before I have another expensive repair, provided I can get someone to take it off my hands. I'm going back to Honda and will never buy another Subaru. Stay away from Glanzman if you like your money, your blood pressure to remain normal and your peace of mind.
