Bill Coffin salesman for Greenhouse Builders contracted with Mike Ryan to add solar panels to his house.  He took a $6500 check as down payment which was fraudulent.  According to the contract it should have been only $1000 or 10% whichever is smaller.  The job was not done within the specified time.  This salesman came to Mike's house demanding more money before they could start the work.  That is also a breech of the contract.  The salesman wanted more money before they would start the project.  In the meantime Mike realized that the price was not what he thought.  Mr. Ryan has some impairments since a stroke a few years ago and does not comprehend easily.  The salesman tried to trick Mr. Ryan into writing another check.  My daughter Rosemary  who is also on the contract which she was not aware and did not sign the contract stopped Mr. Ryan from writing another check and asked the salesman to leave.  He had come uninvited.  He tried to lure Mr. Ryan out of the house so he would write the check by saying his car was stalled on the freeway and needed a ride.  When the salesman was asked to leave he became belligerent and threatened Mr. Ryan.  My granddaughters boyfriend had to make him leave.

I have been in touch with Russ who is an executive of Greenhouse Builders regarding $6500 paid to his company.  After much avoidance on his part he said they might negotiate a refund which would take a couple of weeks.  So far it has been months and no replies to my emails or phone calls.  I have contacted lawyers and they say to go to small claims court.  Mr. Ryan is not capable of appearing in court due to his impairments.  I have intervened as the mother of Rosemary  to try to get Mr. Ryan's money.  The bottom line is we need help.  The solar panel part of the Greenhouse Builders has gone out of business and they lost their license.  They still have other parts to their business.  I also contacted BBB and found their had been other complaints and they now have an F rating.
I hope you can help.  I have thought about going to TURKLE but that is a last resort.
Thank you,
Jean O
