So, I saw an ad in the paper looking for extras and whatnot for stuff and it looked like fun to me, so I called Global Casting and set up an account. When I called, the guy that I talked to was very pleasant and really eager to set me up with an account (well, at least to get my credit card number).

A few days later I got a new job that was going to be taking up a lot of my time and I decided that I didn't want to do it anymore. So I called the number to cancel what I was told was a 30 day trial.

The representative that I spoke to was not only rude, but extremely mean. Whatever reason that I gave him, he would not take and only told me that I was wrong. I argued with him for a long time (although, from what I've read here-it's a good thing they didn't hang up on me) until finally I got so frusterated, I started to cry. To which he told me I was probably faking it.

He finally got fed up and told me he was going to refund my money and that it could take up to 30 days. Well, I just want them to know that I have the credit card company on alert and if I don't get that money back within the 30 day time period, they are going to have more than just me to deal with.

The way I was treated by this company was atrocious! Unsuspecting users beware! They are not as friendly when you want to cancel. Let me tell you, the best way to find out about things is word of mouth and you can bet that I'll be telling everyone I know what happened to me.

Well I called them back...

AUTHOR: Elizabeth - (U.S.A.)

I called them back today and the representative I spoke with (who was much nicer I might add) assured me that the refund was put through. I guess I will have to check in with my credit card company anyway.

I do want to point out that the reason that I originally filed this report was not because I couldn't get my money back (only time will tell about that). The reason I filed was to warn that they say that there is a 30 day money back guaruntee, but if you actually try to get your money back-they do everything in the book (including calling you names) to see to it that you don't. I'm pretty sure I was called stupid and an idiot-among other things and I don't really see how a business is on the up and up can allow their employees to treat people this way.

So, I guess they have between 7 and 30 business days for that refund to show up on my credit card statement. I've let the credit card company know about what's going on, so they're watching for it.

#2 Consumer Suggestion

They have absolutely no intention of refunding anything.

You don't understand how fraud works. They are sitting there laughing at people like you right now.

You need to force your credit card company to reverse the charges. That way the frauds LOSE money on you. They are charged a fee for each chargeback. PLUS, they lose your payment.

Plus, it screws up their merchant account. After 1 or 2% chargeback rate, their account can be closed and then they can't get anything from credit cards anymore. That's the kiss of death for a fraud like this.

How much i got ripped off

AUTHOR: Elizabeth - (U.S.A.)

I forgot to include in my original report that I was charged $139 to set up my account, and this is the amount of money that I am worried about whether or not I will be refunded. I sent an email to them this afternoon, letting them know that I filed a complaint here. I'll have to see if it's actually answered, though judging by the way this company does business, I supsect it won't be.
