After carefully looking at a number of online offers GDI got my attention with their picture of a Ferrari and the slogan: "Do you want one of these?" The testimonials convinced me that GDI offered what I was looking for.
I signed up with GDI and studied the concept. I did not need the Domain name and the 10Megabites of hosting other than for getting others to sign-up, with the promised income in mind. It turns out that all these testimonials are bought with their so called contests.
Although GDI claims that it is free to join.(See their website) They only give you 7 days for "free" without properly stating that. In order to sign-up, credit card information is required you have to give credit card information so they can charge your credit card after 7 days anyone that fails to cancel (which is made complicated) is on the hook. Even if you cancel chances are that they will keep charging your credit card.
The product is just to cover-up an illegal pyramid scam. Godaddy (godaddy.com) which is a respectable company that services businesses for years and offers a hosting package for just over $4.00 per month for 10 Gaga-bites and 100 email accounts 10 times the hosting space and email accounts GDI offers for $10 per month. The real value of GDI hosting is just $0.40 per month and a DOT- COM domain name which is better than WS is offered for just $10.10 per year. And the WS domain name at Godaddy.com for $15.00 per YEAR This makes the real value of GDI's package just under $1.40 per month If you sign-up for more domain names which GDI tries to let you do it's a lot worst, You are then charged $20.00 or $30.00 per month for just 2 or 3 domain names three domain names registration cost $30.00 per YEAR. Businesses get their domain names from companies like Yahoo and Godaddy not from GDI WebSite.WS
Most of the people I signed up did not continue the program and quitted in a few months. However I don't give up on things easily I was thinking constantly how to get things going.
I spend around $20,000.- in advertising. After a total of 2 years in the program my income was $130.00 per month for two years full-time work not very good and not even a drop in the ocean compared to the promises.
In short My complain is GDI is a plain Pyramid Scam. Only a few subscribers are making money which is not made clear in their presentations. And their websites.
My second Complain is about the use of my sons credit-card. I had used My personal Credit card to pay for a person in my down-line After I was no longer a member of GDI I was going to make sure that charges for this person would no longer come off my credit card. I canceled my Credit card. However GDI apparently had a credit-card of my son on file who has the same first name as I do, Which I was not aware of and might have used on an occasion.
Without informing me or receive authorization GDI started in January this year(2008) to use my sons credit card for this account, which was not in my name or my sons name. Henry Koopman was the subscriber to that account. For five months GDI took money from my son, He did not think anything of-it because he thought it was for me and was not concerned of getting it from me eventually. When he came to ask me for the money it was for 5 months taken of his account. I have asked GDI to return the money to my sons card but they refuse to give it back. Finally after complaining with the credit card company the credit-card company returned the funds into my sons credit card.
GDI always denies any charge against them

Why make it so difficult to cancel the account
AUTHOR: Solomon - (Malaysia)

I was a GDI member for more than 2 years and decided to cancel the account.I wrote in to their support two times on how to cancel the account but never get any reply (you can check their record on this).
After some research over the internet, I gathered that I have to follow their policy that requires members to call in to their USA office to cancel the account, I then called several times and managed to get through. However, each time, their phone system put me on hold for a long time until I gave up as my overseas phone bill was killing me.
I then changed to a different credit card for the monthly payment via their system and double checked that it was correctly effected. To my surprise, I still got billed via my old credit card. Upon checking via their system, I discovered that they have reverted to my old credit card for the monthly billing without my authorisation. I felt that this is a most unethical business practice. GDI should be investigated for this. I would suggest that the relevant US authorities audit their computer system to verify this fact.
Till today, I'm still stuck with my GDI account as it is not easy to escape from their clutches.
Overall, I got the impression that GDI wanted to make it difficult for their members (especially overseas members) to cancel their account in order to make money.
It may not be a scam, but it is certainly an unethical company.
Now that GDI knows that I'm an unhappy customer and wanted to desperately get out, I doubt they will ever help me to cancel my account!

Read the Facts about GDI. NOT A SCAM!!!!

I have to dispute these reports. I have just signed up for GDI. GDI is more expensive then just an ordinary Website hosting such as GoDaddy.com because you are not only getting a domain and a website you are getting your own business. I hardly think that $10 a month for the unprecedented amount of support and FREE marketing methods they offer to their affiliates. I have investigated, researched and read all about GDI before becoming an affiliate. THEY ARE A FORUTUNE 500 COMPANY. THEY ARE REGISTERED WITH THE BETTER BUSINESS BUREAU, and offer full support to their affiliates.
If you do not know how to market an online business, this may not be for you. Nothing comes handed to anyone on a silver platter and YOU MUST work at your GDI Business just like any other Business. I haven't made a dime yet from this because I haven't marketed GDI YET!!! But, the proof is in the pudding and the facts are the facts about GDI. If you only want a domain then you might want to get it somewhere that is cheaper but can you find the availability for the .com name you want? That's a tough one. Most .com names are becoming extinct and most people end up having to change their thought out domain name because of the limited .com names available.
Everyone knows when they sign up for GDI that they are getting into a Business Opportunity as well as getting a domain which is a BIG BENEFIT having the .ws extension as most .com extensions are used up already. GDI offers a Solid proof Business Model, tons of free marketing material including almost 8 different business websites that are all top of the line websites with the right content. Those who are signing up members using your own personal credit card, I have to say this was a foolish thing to do no matter what the situation was. Another thing is if you add more then one domain that's something you have to pay for as well, do you expect to get those for free? Nothing is free in the Business World but GDI offers the Most for the money, hands down and the Website Builder they offer is great also for those that do not know how to create your own website although they do offer hosting where you can build your website from scratch at no extra charge. I personally have to give GDI a Thumbs up for all they offer to their affiliates with support and resources.

GDI is a low cost program and that is good because it gives more people an opportunity to prosper but bad because it attracts alot of ignorant people like this person. the fact that she cant spell and signed up someone else under her credit card number shows she is not too bright. sorry, my mama told me not to say anything if i cant say something nice but i have to defend GDI on this one. GDI will be a household name in the near future and i do it full time. educate yourself and put forth the effort and stop expecting something to be easy or given to you

Seems to me the people that are complaining about GDI are the ones that have no business being behind a computer in the first place. And how can someone that can't even spell spend $20k on advertising and lose at this? I've spent nearly nothing and done better in one month than this person. Who did you give your $20k to? GDI is not a scam or a rip-off. I'm tired of hearing people say this because they don't know what they are doing. If you don't know how to run an online business then you shouldn't be wasting your time and money. Educate yourselves first, then seek the opportunity. Again....GDI is not a scam. .ws will catch on.
