We were called several times from a company called CERTS which promised a free gift of $50 gift card to any restaurant and a 3 day vacation all-expenses paid for coming to their presentation and listening, no purchase necessary. Against my better judgement, I thought for sure that we'd go, listen and leave with our vacation and gift card but that was not the case.

We were offered a vacation package with guaranteed financing from Monterey Financial Services for $6,000+ which promised of 4-5 star quality hotels. There was a money back guarantee if you were not satisfied (you had 30 days to submit the complaint). We did not receive the software package they promised, with a login and password until two months afterwards (thus the thirty day guarantee was null and void, as was the amount of time we had to file with the state of Minnesota regarding their fraudulent practices).

We have been fighting with them for almost a year now regarding this. The financing company they used was Monterey Financial (guaranteed financing) and because we refused to pay Monterey Financial - they have their own collection agency called Monterey Collections that is contacting us instead.

Global Escapes moved out of the state of Minnesota in August of 2006 and relocated to another state (probably under another name too, buyers beware!)

Global Escapes Now Scamming the State of Texas

AUTHOR: Voyageurs47 - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Tuesday, August 07, 2007

I received numerous telephone calls from Global Escapes (with a 239 area code) to my work. I told the lady numerous times to stop calling my work number and she finally convinced me to attend a presentation. At the presentation, everyone (including myself) purchased the Software Agreement. I am still waiting on my username and password, but I wish I would have found this site before executing a contract with Global Escapes.

I am going to request a refund and see how that goes. The salesman basically convinced me to purchase their software because I told him I am going on vacation next month. He promised I would save a lot of $$ so I thought why not give it a try (especially when they brought the price down by $4k). The salesman also promised to help me book a hotel from their office once my down payment of $250 cleared my bank. The payment has cleared and to my surprise, I have been calling the Austin office to try and book a hotel, but have exhausted my efforts. All the receptionist tells me is that the office manager is going to call me back and she never does.

I'm going to weigh it out and just wait for the 14-day period and if I do not get a username and password, I am going to take legal action.

To the people in Minnesota, I did a little bit of research and found out that Global Escapes' main office is in Florida.

I am listing the Austin office information in case this help you:

Global Escapes
8911 N. Capital of Texas Hwy.
Suite 4260
Austin, Texas 78759
Office: 512.492.6530
Facsimile: 512.492.6535

I'm very interested in knowing if the salespeople travel with the company as well. Please let me know if the name John Hall rings a bell.

Thank you and hope this information is helpful to you.
