Below is the letter mailed to Global Timeshares/VPN and to date I have heard nothing. I wish that I had read ripoff reports prior to this. Are there any solutions to getting refunded?

Dear Sir:

I am writing to you in a last attempt at resolving a dispute with your company. I initially listed my timeshare for sale on Aug. 24, 2005 for $425.00.

On Jan. 2, 2008, Jerry Ryan contacted me stating that he had a buyer for my property. He quoted a point price and my wife and I discussed it. We ask to negotiate a higher price at which he then contacted his buyer and again returned a call back 30 minutes later. He stated that we needed to send $ 2550.00 for closing costs and that the property would close in 45-60 days. We authorized the credit card transaction and he then said that I would receive a recorded call and when I was ask if I had a buyer to say no. Yes, we were happy to sell our timeshare.

I received nothing by the end of February, so called Jerry back. He checked on it and said that buyer's accountant was waiting on some paperwork to clear from IRS. The end of March I again called and it was the same story, and he stated that they were still waiting for the paperwork and they didn't get paid until it closed.

On May 8th, I made a call and talked to Shannon, and questioned whether I was being scammed. She stated definitely not and would have Jerry call. I made 3 attempts that day to talk to him and he never returned my call. I called again on May 9th and Shannon transferred me to Jerry and the conversation was cut off. I called again and someone else answered who begin accusing me of threatening him. I made 2 more phone attempts that day to reach Jerry and all I could do was leave a message to return my call. There was no return.

A Call was made in July to Jerry and he stated that they were now waiting for a Power of Attorney from a soldier in Iraq to close the deal and didn't know when this would occur. Yes, we still had a buyer. I expressed that it had already been 6 months for a closing.

On Oct. 7th, I again called and talked to Shannon and ask to speak to Jerry. She stated that he was a traveling salesman now and not in very often, could she help me. I told her that this deal had gone long enough and that I wanted to have my closing cost of $2550 credited to me. She said that my closing costs were not refundable and that If I had a problem, I needed to talk to customer service. She then provided me the phone number and I called. Customer service unable to take phone calls, but could leave a message.

At 3:10 PM I received a call from customer service. I was then informed that I paid for a Lifetime Advertising Fee. This was the first time I had heard of this! I said this is not true and I was never told that. Then he told me that they have it on recording and that there was never a buyer for my property! I told him that Jerry told me to say no, and I also questioned Jerry about the contract form he sent that said this was cost of advertising and not closing costs. He said, don't worry, we use the same form for both. I reminded him that I had already paid for a listing on Aug. 24, 2005 of $425 and that would be credited at time of closing. He then said that you signed the agreement and said no on the recording and if I were to pursue this I would be perjuring myself.

I called customer service again on Oct. 9th, again having to leave a message. A different man spoke to me and acted as though I was taking his time. He did not give me the opportunity to complete a sentence and I told him that he didn't have to use nasty language. He said this is free country and He could say what ever he wished. I heard enough and hung up.

Bottom line, I have been scammed for $2550 by your company and salesman. There never was a buyer as Jerry stated. I would never have agreed to a Lifetime Advertising Fee for a listing on the internet that I have to update, especially at this price!!

Please refund my $2550 as soon as possible to settle this matter.

Sincerely,

Dwight
