Recently, a representative, named Richard A., contacted me. He said he was referred by TV Travel. He said that TV Travel sends him referrals of people who are doing well and those who are not doing well. I fit in the latter category. He claimed to be his company's top representative and that I would be dealing with him, exclusively. "Aren't you glad of that?," he asked. That happens to be a statement many representatives use. It was the same one that John from TV Travel used on me. John's worked.
Richard told me that his company had a way for me to recoup my money through advertising on Google Adsense. He said that I had had 23,000 visitors to my TV Travel website and that Google would pay me as much as $16,000 - $18,000 for those visitors through a program called "Previous Phase Transfer," which is not defined in the contract. He was very convincing and I nearly bought it.
This time, I checked into his story. TV Travel never heard of this company and they did not give them a referral. Futhermore, I had ZERO visitors to my website.
Richard constantly spoke of Global Web Solutions's guarantees, psychologically implying that my income was guaranteed. He wanted me to buy before I had a chance to read the contract. He said that reading the contract might cause me to "freeze up." That convinced me to read it first.
The contract states that there is no guarantee of income. The only guarantee is in the number of visitors that they would get to my website. Visitors do not necessarily translate into sales. Richard wanted me to charge up my credit card to the tune of $10,000 without reading the contract. If anyone tells you that what you charge on your credit card is OPM (Other People's Money), let me assure you that it is your money--the bills come to you. Hope in sales will not pay the bills. Read about my experience with TV Travel on Rip-off Report.
These lying predators need to be reigned in. New laws are needed to protect the public. If you are an attorney, legislator, or consumer advocate please consider my suggestions listed in my rip-off report about TV Travel.
