I received the following email: from: Amazon Bonus <abcd@covar-samp.bankist.net>

date:    Sun, Dec 3, 2017 at 1:49 PM

subject:            Merry Christmas Rewards worth 5O Dollar for you WDM

mailed-by:       covar-samp.bankist.net

hurry up! Congratulations Amazon Customer tingram2008@gmail.com

"Get your Amazon Prime Reward".

Later found this to be a spam email!

I clicked on the link and was forwarded to select from several items, in which I chose "Glow Eternal Eye Serum". This selection was listed as a "reward" for being an Amazon Prime customer and the product was my prize, and I would only be charged $4.95 shipping and handling fee. I do not usually click on these Awards or Prizes. However, since I am an Amazon Prime customer, I felt this was a legitimate prize.

I received my order confirmation January 1st, 2018,  via email and I also received the product later. To my surprise on February 9, 2018, my card was charged $94.90! I immediately called the customer service number, 877-769-9540, And spoke to Ali. she stated that I accepted the terms and conditions and the $94.90 was for the skin product. This is not what was stated on anything that I read when I selected this untrue and misleading "reward".

I called back and spoke with Alexis,  a male and he stated he was a supervisor. I expressed my displeasure and he stated that he would cancel my "subscriptions" and refund 35% of the $94.90. I did not accept the 35%, so he offered 75%, then he finally offered a full refund. He also stated he would confirm all of this via email. I have not received the email or refund, but I am allowing up to 7 business days.

My Complaint:

  • This company has committed civil and criminal fraud.
  • This purchase DID NOT indicate that I was selecting any subscription, or a fee of $94.90 would be charged later.
  • This company deliberately gave false or misleading information in order to steal money  charge my credit card.
  • This company is involved with a blatant scam and trickery sales practices that are unethical.

Scams like this are especially harmful for low income families. This financial loss was devastating to me and my four children.
