Oil prices closed at $89.28 per barrel on November 19, 2012. That was an increase of about 2.7% in one day. The Dow Jones went up 208 points on November 19, 2012.

Today is November 20, 2012. At 9:32 AM ET oil is down .61 cents per barrel and the Dow Jones is down 56 points.

Today is November 7, 2012. The Dow Jones is down 219 points at 10:05 AM ET. Oil prices are also down. A barrel of oil is down $2.26, which is a loss of 2.55% for the day so far.

If oil prices go lower, then gasoline and diesel fuel prices should drop. That would make food prices go down, because food needs to be transported by trucks and trains that require fuel. Let's hope that oil prices continue to decline in November and December, and into 2013.

Are you beginning to understand the link between the stock market and the price of oil? When oil prices are high, stocks tend to stay high. But when oil prices fall, stocks usually go down. The USA consumes about 18.8 Million barrels of oil each day. Global consumption is around 82 Million barrels per day.

EXAMPLE: Oil prices are down about 1.5% today. The Dow Jones is currently down 176 points at 10:00 AM ET. Low oil prices are good for the 99% because it will keep gasoline and diesel fuel prices lower, but the 1% will suffer as they see their stock values plunge. Maybe people all over the world are starting to realize that oil was being manipulated by the Wall Street bankers back in 2008 in order to keep stock values high and to keep the system afloat, right?

Keep in mind that the USA consumes about 20 Million barrels of oil each day. Every $10 increase on the price of a barrel of oil equates to $200 Million per day in additional profits for the 'speculators', right?

Here's something interesting that was just on TV a few minutes ago: A report said that the airlines made $3.8 Billion in profits last year. Over half of it ($2.1 billion) was a result of FEES, like charging for baggage, etc. You can 'Google' this- AIRLINES MAY SOON NEED TO MAKE STUFF UP TO GENERATE NEW FEES, and read the related articles on the web.

connected, right? Simply 'Google' this- FRONTLINE: INSIDE THE MELTDOWN, and watch it on the web. There's a segment where the Treasury secretary, Henry Paulson, had a meeting with the 9 CEO's from the largest banks in America. Every one of those banks received money from the TARP. Billions of dollars in taxpayer's money!

Some of the banks were Citigroup, JP Morgan Chase, Morgan Stanley, Goldman Sachs, Wells Fargo, etc. Now 'Google' this- WHO OWNS THE FED?, and go to the site with the 5 charts and take a look at who is listed in those charts.

I believe that it all boils down to this: the Federal Reserve is desperately trying to keep itself afloat, and they're doing it by charging as many credit card holders higher interest rates to compensate for the lost revenue they were receiving prior to the collapse of the system, which put millions of people out of work. (Most of it as a result of the 'mortgage/foreclosure mess'.)

They (the banks) were obviously speculating (manipulating) the price of oil back in late 2007 and into 2008 when oil went as high as $147 a barrel, causing gasoline to go over $4 a gallon in the USA. (Another way to generate lost revenue.)

The Fed obviously controls most of the government and Wall Street, in my opinion. That's why Americans are getting screwed! The Fed and its network of banks are going to do whatever they can in order to keep themselves afloat, even if if means sending the U.S. economy back into recession, or even a depression, in my opinion.

WELCOME TO AMERICA- CONTROLLED BY THE FED

I have had a similar thing happen to me with FIA CREDIT SERVICES. Please excuse the long explanation, but I once had an APR of about 11%, and when Bank of America took over the card through a credit union I then began to run into trouble. I experienced trying to get refinancing with QUICKEN LOANS, and if you read in this site about the complaints many people experience either a deposit scam or bait and switch. So when Quicken took my deposit after I decided against their product since what was told me was not the same as what the papers said, they took a deposit of $500 from Citi Card. I wanted the loan to obtain a way out of the high interest I was experiencing and wanted to have some cash out to continue working on my reconstruction house project. I tried to get Citi Card to not honor the deposit but came up owning the amount. Okay, now back to FIA, what they then did when I called to get into a payment plan is refuse me, then raised my APR to just under 30%. They then lowered the credit limit (to half) without notifying me, and then closed the account down. After I paid them off they then trashed my credit report through all three agencies, and this in turn made all credit cards close down various accounts. Citi Card is one of the derivatives that closed my account as a result of the FIA credit report. I always paid FIA, yet not always what they wanted, and they charged me $700 worth of fees making it difficult to pay them the monthly invoice. I paid the fees having found another job. Now I have paid off three credit cards, and focusing on another one, and plan to strike the last one after that. My goal is to close down all credit cards and never use them again.

Here is what really annoys me, and if anyone has an explanation I would be happy to consider it: Even though all the credit cards closed down my accounts using the credit report and not my performance with them, they charge their inflated interest even though I cannot use their credit. I am always paying on time, and the problem I had gone through WITH ONE ACCOUNT is way over, yet the interest is causing me to loose too much money. IS THIS LEGAL? Does this piss anyone else off or is it just me?

The Dow Jones closed at its highest level in history on October 9th, 2007, which was about six weeks after that comment was posted. On October 9th, 2007, the Dow Jones closed at 14,164 points. On March 9th, 2009, the Dow closed at its lowest level in over a decade. It closed at 6,547 on March 9th, 2009.

I am sorry for what GM has done to your interest rate. 32.44% is crazy!!

I would do what Pianoman did. If this doesn't work in your favor, I would start shopping around. Check with your local credit union if possible. If you still have good credit, you should be able to find another company to pay them off at a much better rate.

Once paid off, I would then close the GM account and tell them why. I realize that you have been a customer for 15 years, but that is totally not worth working with them anymore.What a bunch of jerks not to work with you!

I too fell prey to GM Credit cards 33% rate. I contacted them....got their typical scripted line of "this is the best rate we can offer". One night I jumped online and filed complaints with the Better Business Burea, Office of the Controller of the Currency, My States Attorney Generals Office and my local Senator. I noted this information on the Better Business Burea filing. 2 Days later I recieve a call from Britney At GM Customer Satisfaction.....they lowered my rate to 12% and issued a refund of 400.00 in interest

After 15 years with GMCredit Card services they raised my interest rate from 10.99% to 32.44% and will not lower it at all. I hold a credit rating of 716 and they say I am a risk. I have never been late, Never had bounced checks. In fact always paid more on my bill that they asked. I have called every month to ask for a lower rate and the same thing is said every time. 'We have no lower rate for you at this time'. I feel like this is legalized 'Loan Sharking'.

Please, anyone out there. CUT up their card and don't let this happen to you. Recently in the news I heard this happened to Chase Manhatten Banks too. The government stepped in. Does anyone know who I can contact in the government to stop this 'Loan Sharking' from continuing? This is so unfair to all of us who make an honest living.

This nation no longer has usury laws...the credit card companies are free to raise your rates as they please for any reason. They usually cite changes to your credit report: one missed payment or your percent utilization rate going over a certain percentage...Ultimately...they could say they did it because the sky is blue and get away with it.

If you have the money to pay the balance off or if you have credit available to balance transfer the entire balance...use this as a bargaining chip to get your old rate back....Tell them to either give you the old rate back or you'll close the account.

If you're not in a position to do either...sadly there's not much you can do...there's nothing illegal about what they did no matter how horrible it is.

If and when we take back our democracy....we can re-institute usury laws to prohibit these practices.

You must alert ALL News Stations in your city and also send your story to Dateline NBC, 60 Minutes, and Geraldo Rivera! This proves that our economy is in SERIOUS trouble! Millions are in your same situation! The Collapse Has Been Triggered!!!

Go to the TOYOTA page on this site and read the story about what Richmond Toyota did to the innocent people on social security and go to the Rebuttals and get the addresses to mail your story! You must do it NOW!!!!

Read the RICHMOND TOYOTA story and then go to the Rebuttals and send your story to ALL of the News Stations listed. (9News, Fox 31 News, Dateline NBC, & 60 Minutes). There is no guarantee that they will respond but if you don't mail them your story, they'll never know.

GM has to pay over $5 Billion every year for Health Insurance for their workforce & their retired workers. Guess how they are coming up with that money? Answer: by RAISING YOUR interest rate on your Credit Card!!

The Collapse of the U.S. economy is in its infancy. Get all of your money out of the stock market and cash in your retirement NOW! Most people cannot see what is coming. I do! Americans have $4 Trillion in their retirements. 90% of that money is invested in the Stock Market!! All of the clues and indicators are pointing to another COLLAPSE of the Stock Market! When the Stock Market goes, so goes Americans RETIREMENTS!! I hope I'm wrong!! But to HOPE against what IS happening does no good!
