Upon leaving work in Manhattan, I discovered my car had a flat tire. I tried to change it myself and could not get the tire off. I called GM motor club for assistance. After waiting for an hour they sent Pop A Lock. They could not get the tire off either. I was told he would call it in for a tow and it usually takes about 1 hour. Another hour passed and the tow never showed. I called back GM and they said that Pop A Lock never called for a tow. GM advised that they would request for a tow truck to come and that it should be again about 1 hour. Tow truck didn't show after an hour. Now I am really starting to get mad. I called back and they put me on hold then told me about another 1/2 hour they should be there. I then get a call on my now dying cell phone from Quality Automotive (based in Brooklyn) saying that the driver is in traffic by LaGuardia Airport and will be about 1/2 hour. So I am still waiting from when I left my job at 3:30. I called Quality Automotive because of course they still did not show after another 1/2 hour. The man from Quality now proceeds to put me on hold for 15 minutes. He tells me that the driver stopped at McDonald's to get something to eat. Yes that is what I was told.
Now I need to find a place that I can charge my cell phone. I am so furious at this point. I was given the runaround all day long by GM and Quality Automotive. When I spoke to GM for them to send a different tow company, they told me they would have to cancel that service call and put in another one and it could take over another hour. I decided to give Quality one more chance and called to see what the story was now. The dispatcher then puts me on hold yet again. He comes back on and tells me he is a few blocks away. I again wait over 1/2 hour more. They never showed. At this point it's 10:30 at night and I have waited the whole day to try and have my car towed. I finally called to tell my wife to call GM and have them cancel the service and I take the train home and get home at midnight. This is the best, my wife texts me that when she spoke to GM and they got in touch with Quality Automotive, the dispatcher told GM that the driver had to stop to use the restroom. My car is still stuck in Manhattan and now I need to call customer service tomorrow to try and resolve this
because today is Sunday and there is no customer service on Sunday. GM and Quality Automotive are totally unreliable and do not ever do business with either of them. I guess I will now have to join AAA.
