GM Van Lines Use them only if you don't care when your stuff arrives - from a real customer Miami Florida

I am a real customer, not a fake submission by a competitor. I contact GM Van Lines 20 days before I was going to move. I did my research. I found two complaints on this website, and after further review, came to believe that the claims were false. Boy was I wrong.

I spoke to Agatha O'Brien on July 6th and obtained a quote to move me from Sarasota, Fl to Parker, CO. I was very specific about my dates. I wanted pick up on 07/30/08 and delivery on 08/06/08 (8 days after the pick up). Every time I spoke to anyone at their company (both Agatha and the sale rep who came out to my house); I asked about delivery on 08/06 and was told no problem.

So when I called on 08/06/08 to find out what time the truck would be at my house, I was surprised to learn that the truck would leave Florida on Sunday (08/10/08) and may be at my house by 08/15/08 (only 9 days after I wanted it). Please Note the phase when I called they never called or e-mailed me to let me know the truck would be late (even though they had both my cell phone # and e-mail address).

Needless to say I was a little unhappy about it, so when I spoke to Agatha O'Brien and the dispatcher the response was well, we don't guarantee delivery dates.

That is just the kind of attitude I look for in a moving company give us all your stuff, we'll delivery it when we feel like it (but we want your money now).

I have moved over 20 times in my life (my dad was in the Navy). I have heard of and would accept a moving company being 1 day late or maybe even 2 days late but 10 days or more is just plain wrong.

I would never use this company again and I would never recommend this company to anyone. If you are considering using them, make sure that you do not have a delivery date in mind because they sure don't.
