Today I receive a check by mail for $3940. That is how they get you. The letter enclosed states the check is from a company called GMI, but they say their name is Global Market Research.

On the cover letter it states the above information. But none of the information quite checks out. They say they are through Covington, LA. They say I was chosen to be a mystery shopper, at $80 per hour, and after the "training assignment" I will then make 440 per week and after six months 600 per week. They want me to transfer the money $3400 by money gram back to Canada, where the post mark is originally from the rest is for training purposes.

Amidst all the mispelling and bad grammer they also mispelled the bank address on the check, the routing number, account number and check number at the bottom are all mixed up. They state the bank on the check is in Littleton CO and the company is a Sheepskin Company out of Fairfield IOWA. None of this makes any sense, but to someone so deperate at this time of year, this could be so dangerous. I so wish we could catch these people and lock them up for good. Please be leary and remember if it is too good to be true, it is a lie!!!

Me Too!

AUTHOR: Scammed - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Thursday, February 12, 2009

My husband received the exact same letter. I read it over and over because I knew it was a scam. The minute I saw to send money to three idiots in CANADA I knew it was nothing. The check looked real and the bank even verified that it could be deposited. NO WAY! They're not getting the little bit of money I have in the account!

If I would have seen the envelope and saw the Canadian stamp, it would've been trashed immediately!
